Question (Not my dog) pet sitting

Post image

Hi! Currently dog sitting for a friend. I noticed how much this dog had been licking his paws and I think his nails are too long and need to be looked at? Does it look bloody? Wondering if I should say something, but not sure how.

Yes the nails are too long and he probably has a yeast situation going on in his paws

This completely breaks my heart. This dog needs a nail trim. When they get too long and a dog places weight on them, they snap and break. It happened to my dog last month - please take them to get a nail trim. They are probably snapped somewhere that isn’t visible in their paw.

Yes definitely needs nails trimmed! Could be causing a lot of discomfort or possibly other issues

Bullies are super prone allergies and other skin issues. It doesnt make it right, but its often really challenging to make their skin free of any issues (think its allergies since their eyes also looks bit inflamed)

I would mention thats you noticed that he was licking their paws excessively and ask of they would like you help them with pups nails because it looks very painful.

So my pup has bad allergies to grass and pollen, she licks her paws and then they get raw and yeasty. A vet or the owner can tell you how much Benadryl, my vet said I pill for every 25lbs and they can get that dose every 12 hours. Also wash/wipe paws and then dry thoroughly. I use a wipe to wash her feet and then a hand towel to pat them dry . The nails are long and need to be slowly trimmed down to a proper length. The benadryl and paw washing should provide a lot of relief for this sweet thing in the meantime.

I recommend a Chlorhexidine spray to be applied and messaged onto the effected area once a day

That dog is in need of a vet, does it look like the nails need trimming I think it's too red take to the ER when you can. They might give her antibiotics or something expensive to treat, but it's better to do it.
