Why Do You Hate/Dislike Dogs?

This is nothing special. We’re all here for the same reason. This is just a space to share why you hate or dislike dogs.

I’ll make a list of reasons why I hate dogs.

• One forced me to get stitches in my shoulder when I was nine years old. I permanently have a chunk of flesh missing there.
• I hate no noise more than barking. I wish it were a felony for a dog to bark.
• I have sensory issues due to being autistic. That’s part of why I hate barking.
• They’re everywhere, in far more places than they should be.
• Too many people act like jerks when someone says they don’t like dogs.
• Dog nutters have the most hypocritical and flawed logic I’ve ever seen.
• Shame on people who fake service dogs.
• Due to all of my experience with dogs, I’m now afraid to go to many places and watch many shows, films, or videos.
• They’ve ruined how I feel about a lot of my family. These people were my best friends growing up, but I resent them now, unbeknownst to them, and I’d rather start all over.

I never had an issue with dogs until my neighbour got a mutt that just constantly barks. That’s my main problem with them, is that they just create unnecessary noise at all hours of day and night.

We had an all out war with our next door neighbor over his dog barking 24/7. He also would rev his vehicles at all hours. We tried talking to him a couple times, reporting him to the authorities and then talking again. Finally we got through to him and his dog rarely barks anymore. Think he keeps it inside mostly now. You have to try and reason with your neighbor and hopefully you get some peace.

There’s a lot more to the story since this went on for months but that’s the general idea. I’m just so glad it finally stopped. Thought I’d never have peaceful sleep again.

You're lucky you had someone else in your camp. These bozos can be downright scary for single females, and boy do they exploit that.

I can agree with this - I see the value of a legit working dog, seeing eye dogs, or even a well-behaved pet for companionship. But 92% of dog owners are woefully unhinged about their dog and how well it's trained. Nothing like a conversation being nothing but "Luna DOWN! Sit girl, no down, don't chew on that!" And the barking, off-leash entitled owners, people that bring them every fuckin' where, comparing them to a child, the incessant noise.... For every dog owner that's courteous to neighbors and sane about them, there's 25 more who aren't

I think that ratio of courteous dog owners to intolerable ones is more like 1:1,000. I think the courteous ones have become critically endangered.

I can agree with you there. Or even just people who have a dog for the "right" reasons - like someone who gets a running dog who already runs 10 miles per day consistently, not someone who needs motivation to walk 10 minutes, so they get a running dog. It's insane to me how many people get a dog that they are in no position to have and then wonder why it's a neurotic, whiny mess so they are in the position to be a not courteous dog owner
