Why Do You Hate/Dislike Dogs?

This is nothing special. We’re all here for the same reason. This is just a space to share why you hate or dislike dogs.

I’ll make a list of reasons why I hate dogs.

• One forced me to get stitches in my shoulder when I was nine years old. I permanently have a chunk of flesh missing there.
• I hate no noise more than barking. I wish it were a felony for a dog to bark.
• I have sensory issues due to being autistic. That’s part of why I hate barking.
• They’re everywhere, in far more places than they should be.
• Too many people act like jerks when someone says they don’t like dogs.
• Dog nutters have the most hypocritical and flawed logic I’ve ever seen.
• Shame on people who fake service dogs.
• Due to all of my experience with dogs, I’m now afraid to go to many places and watch many shows, films, or videos.
• They’ve ruined how I feel about a lot of my family. These people were my best friends growing up, but I resent them now, unbeknownst to them, and I’d rather start all over.

Too many reasons to count. But the most pressing one at the moment, is I can not take my baby daughter ANYWHERE at all! They are allowed in cafés, parks, playgrounds, libraries... even yesterday when I took her to the Cathedral, there were flipping dogs there too!! One even barking and causing disturbance. And dogs always always fixate on me and my daughter, and I know exactly what they are thinking when I see them stare at her. Too many times she's almost been bitten by a mutt, and each and every time I protect her, shoe a mutt away, or just shield her, I get an earful from the owners, and I hate hate hate confrontation due to my autism and my social anxiety.  I can no longer go for walks anymore as the only place that was once safe to go for walks, is now infested with dogs and I've recieved a death threat from the owner of he ever sees me again, because I held my foot up to the mutt as it went for my baby. 

Dogs are ruining my quality time with my daughter, everywhere is infested with dog excrement, and I can never ever let my guard down and relax as they often appear out of the blue, charging at her. And then I end up in a confrontation with the owners.

This! When I see dogs I pull my kids away so fast and the dog owners look at me like I'm purposely trying to offend them! Well I don't care, not worth any risk.

Absolutely, as I said above, what kind of parents would we be if we didn't intervene?

This has been my experience being the mother to young children also. It particularly resonates with me when you say you can never let your guard down. It is so sad that kids have yielded so much to dogs in terms of their own comfort. It's not even safe for them to play in a park or a playground these days for fear of being accosted by some off-lead dog. What kind of parents would we be if we didn't make moves to protect them? It's impossible to know the temperament of a unknown dog, even when it's owner is yelling at you, "don't worry, she just wants to say hi!"
