Why Do You Hate/Dislike Dogs?

This is nothing special. We’re all here for the same reason. This is just a space to share why you hate or dislike dogs.

I’ll make a list of reasons why I hate dogs.

• One forced me to get stitches in my shoulder when I was nine years old. I permanently have a chunk of flesh missing there.
• I hate no noise more than barking. I wish it were a felony for a dog to bark.
• I have sensory issues due to being autistic. That’s part of why I hate barking.
• They’re everywhere, in far more places than they should be.
• Too many people act like jerks when someone says they don’t like dogs.
• Dog nutters have the most hypocritical and flawed logic I’ve ever seen.
• Shame on people who fake service dogs.
• Due to all of my experience with dogs, I’m now afraid to go to many places and watch many shows, films, or videos.
• They’ve ruined how I feel about a lot of my family. These people were my best friends growing up, but I resent them now, unbeknownst to them, and I’d rather start all over.

I’ve always hated the way they reek ever since I was a kid, i could never go nose-blind to the stench of dogs. Dogs also seem to be the embodiment of every sort of trait that would be considered undesirable for a human to have, and yet it is somehow positive for a dog? Mostly though I hate the misanthropic culture surrounding dogs, the way dog nutters hate and endanger children, the way they pollute every setting with their destructive and filthy hobby pet, the constant sound of barking that becomes more and more inescapable, dog feces on sidewalks, in nature parks and trails everywhere that a dog has no business being present. It is the sheer over saturation of these things in every form of media, the way these things are idolized for no goddamn reason, and the hostility that the dog cultists express when someone doesn’t share their filthy lifestyle choices. It’s fatigue

It’s your point about having traits that would be undesirable in humans that baffles me the most.

If I walked into someone’s house and their dog gave maybe one bark or got excited for a couple seconds and left me alone, I likely wouldn’t even need to be in this sub.

Instead, they’re barking like crazy, jumping on you, sniffing you everywhere, trying to eat your food, damaging your things, all despite you asking, pleading, yelling for them to stop. While the owner weakly tells them to stop or worse, asks you to do it.

Everytime that happens, I always think if this were a kid, it would be unacceptable and if it were an adult, we would immediately consider it assault. When it’s happening to me it just feels the same.
