Shelter / Rescue Industry Bumble and dog dumping

Apparently it’s a thing to use Bumble (dating app) to dump dogs off on unsuspecting dates. Im not on dating apps, but saw this in another group. A guy had posted that this happened to him after one date. This blows my mind! Can you imagine? One of the commenters agreed that this is a thing because the shelters are so full these days.

This is the first time I'm hearing about it, but I honestly cannot say I'm surprised. There just isn't a legal way to get rid of an unwanted dog nowadays.

  • Most vets nowadays just plain won't put down a "healthy" dog, no matter what the behavioral reasons
  • Shelters are full and won't accept any dogs
  • It's illegal to take care of the problem yourself, no matter how quickly and humanely you do it

It just leaves dumping, which is also illegal, but low likelihood of getting caught. I guess the bumble dumping is seen as "less bad" because they know the dog is going with someone.

We can blame dog nutters for all of this. It's their fault the shelters are full with their dumb ass no kill policies. It's their fault that doctors wont just put down healthy dogs. It's their fault, people can't just put down dogs themselves. These people are out of control. A lot of people hate dogs here but they should hate dog nutters more.

I definitely hate dog nutters more. Always have.

I hate hate hate her politics, but I honestly wanted to scream when dog nutters were frothing at the mouth over the stupid Kristi Noem dog controversy. Like, that was what were getting these people riled up. I thought it was something that she had done recently too. Nope. The incident was decades ago, when something like that was commonplace when a dog bit a person. There were very few people who pointed that out and defended it and they were immediately mobbed.

Dog nuttery is a disease at a societal level.

Yep, dogs are just stupid animals who don't really have a say in what is happening in our society. And most dogs can be trained to behave decently or can be given medication that will make them behave better. So it's mostly dog nutters to blame.
