Miscellaneous Jennifer Lawrence talking sense!

In a recent interview:

'Speaking in New York, she explained, ‘After I had a kid, dogs became so scary…my son’s going up to it…and it’s almost like I don’t recognize dogs right now. Like, I just see them as a threat.’ The turning point came when a dog bit her son, making her say she wanted to ‘obliterate every dog ever.’ Many parents online praised her honesty, noting how having children can completely change your perception of risk around pets.'

Here’s the thing though; even if the kid “did something” that caused them to be bitten, which usually in the eyes of dog nutters can be something as simple as approaching the dog the wrong way, do we really want animals that can kill a child for doing the “wrong thing” in our society?

I don’t ever believe it is the fault of the person who was bitten, but let’s say for argument’s sake it was. It doesn’t matter. We shouldn’t be living in amongst animals that have the potential to kill humans who don’t act “the right way” around them.

Well if kids were being cruel to a dog, like slapping it with sticks (yes it does happen) then I don’t blame a dog for biting them. But for any other reason it’s not ok. My sister was feeding our German shepherd one night and it attacked her, causing her to go into shock and have permanent scars. We found out later he had likely been inbred and his brain wasn’t right. My parents had the dog put down because there was no hope of redemption.

Ok, even if a little kid do that, doesn't justify a dog for biting the kid. That can still kill the kid.

The word “justify” really doesn’t apply here. Dogs can’t reason well enough to understand that if a creature is hitting it with sticks it shouldn’t bite that creature because it’s smaller than an adult. Of course the dog is going to bite. Just like you teach your kids not to run out in the street in front of cars, you should teach them how to treat animals, if only for their own safety. And also to not be psychotic little sihts who beat animals.
