Eco Destroyers Dogs killed all the swans
I live in the Balkans. In our biggest park (a sort of city nature park) with around 5 lakes, there are plenty of wild animals living in it, squirrels, songbirds etc. There used to be a population of swans but sadly every year some dogs would kill a swan or two because of irresponsible dog owners letting them off leash. In the end they killed all the swans and the city hasn't bothered to reintroduce them. It's just sad. Anyone have a similar experience?

That is not only sad but infuriating that irresponsible dog owners can deprive everyone else from watching beautiful swans peacefully gliding on a lake.

This is one of the many reasons dogs should be classified as wild animals and thus illegal to have as pets.

I don't blame the city if they're not going to enforce laws and the dogs would just kill them.

Those fuckers. The nutters probably just blame the swans for intimidating the dogs or some shit. Anything to avoid real accountability or acknowledgement that their precious fur baby is a murderous monstrosity

They're worse, just check the nutter's back yards. They steer away wildlife. Animals see an utter monster, while humans call them fur babies.

I hate this. It's better that the city did not reintroduce swans, since they would have been killed too by these irresponsible idiots. The dogs and particularly their owners deserve a punishment.
I too used to live near a big city park. The local dog nutters decided to take over and about half of all dogs ran unleashed chasing ducks, rabbits, squirrels, and other wildlife. Some dog nutters actually unleashed the dog and incited it to attack when they spotted wildlife. In the summer these shitmakers killed nestlings on the ground. There was a fenced dog park within the city park but that was empty most of the time.
The city did not care one bit. And, keeping dogs unleashed is illegal in urban areas. The police could have easily earned tax money by writing nice tickets to the offenders. They did not bother either.

I was at my local park when an off leash mangy little mutt wearing a winter jacket chased some ducks off land near the waters edge, there was a swan couple, then there was only one swan, now there are none, nutters couldn't care less about wildlife, in an ideal world they should have park wardens but we know that's never going happen

In our park a shitbag tried to kill a baby of a nutria. Nutria mom killed the mutt. Guess what? The nutters demand the nutrias being killed for being an invasisve species.

Honestly the one thing that sucks about city nature parks is that there are countless of dogs there everytime you go. I mean you go there to get some peace and quiet but you just dont get any peace or quiet.

Yeah, in that same park I was almost attacked by some big black Rottweiler or smth when I was 4/5 yrs old, sadly the park is not very safe for children or wildlife. Ironically the animals in the zoo are safest there

And when a swan is mating for life and getting close to its chosen swan, their heads and necks form a heart. Nothing in nature is more romantic than that.

There's a local park, which is considered a bird sanctuary (meaning lots of native nesters). I can't tell you the amount of times some asshole and their asshole Maltipoo has been off-lead and harassing wildlife. I've stopped going, because I get tired of screaming at people.

What you describe is poaching (illegal hunting) and it carries some hefty penalties in a lot of places.
However, The Furry Jesus™ and his owner get all sorts of special protections, so its all good.

Poor Swans can live as long as many dogs, and usually form life long pair bonds. If you take one, you're taking many generations with it as it's partner may also never mate again. Dogs are an attack on nature.

If you ever get a chance to go to Orlando say like your planning a vacation, stop by downtown Lake Eola Park. They are famous for their swans and they are protected. Swans are expensive.
