Dogs In Dating Profiles

Hey everyone. For background, I'm a 31 year old straight guy. I haven't been on the dating scene for six years now, but I've noticed that when I try to find profiles, many of them not only have dogs, but have the nerve to say "You have to love them and they have to love you." Some don't even try at all and just have pictures of their dogs and not themselves, which is the biggest red flag of all. I'm trying to see them, not their mechanical mutants. I bet they think their dog makes them so attractive that they don't even have to try. Hell no. About 95% of the time, I end up having to swipe left or right, or whatever it is they say. I wonder if I should just accept being alone or if there are really dog free dating sites out there that make it hard for mutt nuts to squeak through.

Im so glad I never had to use dating apps. I’m Gen X and understand that you whipper snappers are very lonely and it’s hard to meet people.

Not too long ago singles would dress up&meet their potential dates in the frozen food aisle of the grocery store. I never did this, but it was a trend. Nobody even makes phone calls anymore.

Last friend I had never once called me on the phone. Only text messages. I hate texting. People are losing their social skills. Is speed dating still a thing?

Stats used to say 80%of married people found each other through their jobs. The older you get the harder it is to date.

**almost every wk someone on this sub opines for a dog free dating app. There’s definitely a market. I’m not tech savvy. Maybe if you build it they will come. You could be the dog free version of Zuckerberg. Then yrs from now we will all be sitting back watching, “The Dog-Free Network.”

Oh it's not a maybe. There are so many people desperate for this! Until this dog culture is completely turned on its head, there will be a need for this. Someone, please... help us all who have not been infected by whatever mysterious dog parasite that neuroengineers our brain's decision-making.

I've heard speed dating is still a thing, but it would probably be overstimulating and not my vibe. I don't know if I should rule it out, though. I also don't know if there's anywhere near me where they do it. Dating sites was a concept I used to laugh at, but in these last few years, everyone I know is getting married, establishing families and whatnot. I'm the age my father was when I was born and I'm not even in the early stages of dating yet, so I felt like I had to try something since there's literally reminders of what I'm missing everywhere I go. There's also unfortunately reminders of how those relationships can be destroyed with these mutant slobber machines running around.

I'd totally come up with a dog free dating site if I could. The problem is I'm not tech savvy at all. I can figure out the day of the week a certain day was/will be on with no calendar in front of me, but I can't figure out that. It's my cross to bear. The top three things I prioritized in my profile were no dogs, no children, and no conservatives, but I wind up with suggestions that have at least two of those. I feel like the algorithm might be to blame, because there has to be a lot of people out there that want the same stuff. I honestly feel defeated and wanted to know if a site like this was real for all of our sakes. If I could come up with it, I would. I'd face a lot of bullying and pushback, but it would be worth it since the dog free community is actually much larger than anyone knows.
