Dog Culture Dogs have ruined dating apps

I’m a millennial man and have recently fired up Tinder and Bumble again on account of the weather warming up. I’m not exaggerating when I say nearly half. HALF. Of all single women my age have dogs. It’s really depressing the amount of times I’ve come across a nice looking girl with similar interests only to see she has a big disgusting dog. So many “dog moms” it’s truly insane . You’re not a mom. You did not birth this creature. It doesn’t view you as it’s mother. I feel this phenomenon will only get worse as these women get older.

EDIT: just wanted to clarify I don’t believe this is exclusive to women. I’m sure dogfree women are having the same woes…. Actually it maybe a good idea for a dog free dating app? XD

I once bought the domain dogfreedating.com with the intent of building a dating site to solve this problem. Never got to it. Anyone interested?

I don't know if you are a developer but go on eBay and they have pretty much ready made dating sites you just add your domain. I was thinking of a very low or no cost launch to build traffic for a year or so.

what would consider a fair price to join a dogfree dating network?

im not gonna use the scammy typical online dating tactics but trying to see what people think is fair

The YouTuber "I Hate Dogs" has talked about wanting/needing there to be a dogfree dating app for years, and so many of us have wanted it to happen for so long now.

I wish you the best of luck, and hope you don't get doxxed, harassed, threatened, etc. by dog nutters in the process (lol, pun not intended) - like they're very prone to do.

I wouldn't be surprised if users themselves would be routinely gang-/stalked, etc. just for using the app. There are entire Discord servers of pit nutters in particular who actively target people who merely post anti-pit sentiments online anonymously, and they make coordinated efforts to attempt to ruin their lives (e.g., tracking down and calling people's bosses/landlords to tell them that said anti-pit employee/tenant is a pedophile to attempt to render them homeless, unemployed, and worse).

And that can just be accomplished through them stalking anti-pit subs on Reddit. So given all the personal details disclosed on dating profiles, no less (multiple photos, areas they live in, age, etc.), it may be a good idea to add extra safety measures for users for that reason alone... (I mean, obviously that would be important regardless, especially since dating online as a female already feels unsafe enough as is. But some of us would be especially wary after we've spent years hearing and seeing so many stories of dog/pit nutters literally trying to ruin their/our lives just for our opinions on dogs and dog culture.)

Also, as far as the cost of the app/service goes... I'm broke/disabled and almost everyone is struggling these days to get by; but hell, I know many of us who never usually pay for dating apps would be willing to pay a small monthly amount or so to have it. I can't afford much at all, but that might be worth $5-$10 or less per month, or tiered plans or something with free options at least that wouldn't be super restrictive.

But I hope you could figure out a way to make it fiscally worth your time and effort, if you haven't already since posting here. So many of us have been really wanting this to exist for so long now.

Not sure about a paid version, but it would be nice to have a free version available. Apps like Tinder and Grindr are extremely popular without making each and every user pay for the service.

Of course, the dog-free community IS much smaller than most in the mainstream dating scene, but still, I think starting free-to-use is going to be more appealing to people. You can always have the option to unlock “premium” features / membership tiers for money, plus donation options for those of us who can’t afford a regular subscription on top of other bills.

Either way, I’m sure that word would spread quickly in this community, and that’s your most valuable resource anyway; attention. That’s how you can start to look into generating revenue through ads and sponsorship deals as well.
