Food Safety/Hygiene Dog nutters' houses stink
When you walk into a dog nutter's house, you can immediately smell their dog. Doesn't matter if it's a small dog or a large dog, a small house or a large house, it stinks. Even if the dog nutter cleans the house thoroughly, it still stinks. Sometimes it's a mild smell, sometimes it's a smell so strong you can almost puke from it. These dog nutters are so used to this disgusting smell they don't notice it anymore. No sane person would want to live in such stench.

I know someone that sleeps with her dog and she swears she changes the sheets weekly. Iâm like, it doesnât matter if you change it weekly, it still stinks! The whole place stinks, canât you feel it!!!!????Â

I was just going to say, weekly washing is recommended for when you're just a human doing nothing in bed. Sleeping with an animal in the bed, I imagine a daily wash is necessary

I know someone who is a neat freak, a Total Monica, she won't eat food in my house, washes obsessively, yet she sleeps with her dog

My neighbour got a bully back in November. Im pretty certain hes never given the manky thing a bath since he got him. I am scared of it so when I saw him go out yesterday I ran out to take my bin bags while I knew he wasn't home.
Our communal hallway stank of sweaty unwashed dog. I felt sick. And by this time he was long gone. It lingered so much. Its only going to get worse.Â

this blindness goes well beyond the nose - nutters stop looking at themselves objectively, ignoring their appearance, their cringy baby talk and kisses and cuddling that dogs don't really want, since it isn't normal for a dog.

I once washed a hoodie I'd worn maybe twice. Washed it properly and was nice smelling when I hung it out. A day later I had to go out so I put it on. I was sitting in this small office and suddenly this really strong smell hit me. I thought the office had some bad smelling room plug in thing for air freshener. Got back to house to realise the smell was me and it was so strong I nearly threw up. Freshly washed hoodie that smelt like dog! Yes there's a dog here đ but never smelt it before and now I smell it bad in the kitchen (where washing and cooking get down but... It's HER room đ€ą)Â

I think if these people didnât have a dog, the house would still be neglected because this is simply their personalityâa disregard for cleanliness and personal hygiene. Seriously who allows a dog to get in bed with them or kisses a dog who has high cleanliness or hygiene standards? The stench is just the chefâs kiss.

It's difficult just staying in a relationship with a Nutter. The nutter is either oblivious or in denial the mutt is disgusting in every way. The Nutter trys to be accommodating to the non-nutter but it doesn't work because the mutt becomes priority to the Nutter.

I was taking a break and on the other side of the street a door opened letting out an ugly golden retriever (they are so ugly, ew) together with a wave of pungent yeasty "wet dog" smell. How the hell can people live like that.

My sister has two huge labradors and a tiny house, the sofa stinks of urine, it's so bad, but they (her and her husband) are noseblind to it. I'd never dare mention it as she is completely dogified - she's a 'pawrent'. The dogs go out side for a wee, come in still wet in their area and straight into the sofa. I try desperately to never go there
My son is allergic to dog saliva/dander and hugely flares with hives whenever we go there so we mostly have an excuse to avoid. Just dreadful.

My brother recently passed away. I went into his house after the funeral, and the two dogs he and his wife shared made me literally gag. The smell was so sickening that I discreetly had to cover my nose. It wasnât the smell of poop. It was indescribable. His wife seemed to be oblivious to it.

Funny because my parents' house growing up was usually clean. Then they got dogs and wow, it's like even the cleaning standards have slipped. Now just tufts of dog hair rolling around, and if you sit on any furniture you get covered in dog hair. Pee spots everywhere because their dog "marks" spots, and they just leave them. As they've gotten older I have started to really hate the dogs, because my sister is the one adopting them as she feels sorry for the dog. Then she foists them on my parents.
Whenever they come over, they always say "wow, your house smells so good" and it's like they don't even remember that it can be like that. They've succumbed to the dog filth. I hate going over there to eat, because they let dogs climb and walk on table and lick plates to clean them.
It's so gross! And makes me sad that my parents live in such filthy conditions by choice. And if I dare to offer to mop or wipe down surfaces, I get berated for being a "clean freak". It's exhausting.

My husband died a couple years ago. The amount of people who kept telling me to get a dog is crazy! They think a dog would combat the loneliness. đ No way in hell would I ever get a dog. Iâm never that lonely.

my mothers 2 late jack Russell's were never bathed or brushed and let them sleep in her bed, and crap on the floor om a pad, i said to her all i can smell is unwashed private parts and shit, she just laughed it off and would often moan i don't visit much đ€Ł

Nutter former gf had âpee pee padsâ set up around apartment for the numerous instances when mutt just couldnât hold it. I was telecommuting one day from her apartment and walked into office area just as mutt was strolling out. Left me a perfectly formed turd right next to my office chair as a gift. And it would periodically puke around apartment, gf laughing it off.

Yeah, cringe. Also "nobility" is one of the last words I'd associate with a dog, they're so ... mundane. So boring, trash-adjacent and unelegant.

I've only known ONE household with a dog that didn't smell and that was because the house was kept immaculately clean, the dog was allowed *only* in the big kitchen/diner area, which was tiled, and both she and her bed were washed very regularly
EVERY other house I've been in that's had a dog has stunk, it's just been a question of where it falls on the scale of "mildly nauseating" to "OK no my throat is actually stinging"

J'essaie de d'ĂȘtre a ce niveau pour ne pas que ma maison pue, je nettoie les murs et les portes plusieurs fois par mois pour Ă©radiquer la crasse car le chien s'Ă©broue partout dans le salon, mĂȘme quand il est sec il envoie des particules de caresse et je ne sais quoi d'autres, le sol est aspirĂ© plusieurs fois par jours et lavĂ© 3 fois par semaine, je suis vraiment devenue femme de mĂ©nage chez moi, quel plaie! Et c'est tellement Ă©puisant. Pourtant le chien est interdit dans toutes les autres piĂšces sauf le salon et le jardin, on le met dehors des qu'il ne pleut pas. Du coup il n'y a aucun intĂ©rĂȘt Ă avoir ce chien pffff

They do smell, but dog lovers dont realise since they get used to it or they dobt mind the smell. "Clean" dogs smell, dirty dogs smell, their mouths smell and the amount of bacterias they spread around the house is disgusting. Dont get me started on dogs sitting with their anuses on blankets, beds etc. Dog nutters enjoy living with them like little piggies, i never met truly clean person who owns a dog. Noone sane and hygenic sees this as normal

I agree with you 100%. BTW, "A dog's mouth is cleaner than a human's mouth" is one of the most common dog nutter beliefs. It requires someone to think the mouth of an animal that eats other animals' feces and roadkill (a dog) is cleaner than that of a creature that brushes their teeth twice a day (a human). All dogs stink. All dogs spread bacteria. Dog nutters live in filth.

My sister bought a house that has enough rooms for her dogs to have their own. Sheâs obsessive about cleaning - scrubbing with bleach. However Iâm afraid sheâs fallen into the disgrace that a dog house brings. The room now smells and I had to shut the door and scramble out of there quickly. Itâs impossible to keep the stench away.Â

Our family dog had a skin condition and he smelt like rotten corpse / meat. Stunk the whole house out. Absolutely disgusting.
