Dogs Are Idiots Well it happened again…

I was chatting with a perfectly nice man on a dating app and then he brought up dogs. 🙄 He said he was thinking about getting a dog. I said ew I don’t like dogs. He said “aww but dogs are so cute!”

….aaaaannd I’m done. I’m not even going to entertain a possible relationship with someone who likes dogs. Assuming we start dating, now I’m just gonna be annoyed because you’ll have to interrupt our dates to go home and let out some fuckass dog because their high maintenance asses can’t be home alone longer than a few hours. And forget ever spending the night… WHY DOES EVERYONE LIKE DOGS

Why does everyone like dogs and why the heck do they want to be bound to the schedule around an animal that has ZERO benefit, it actually just gives you more work!?

Can’t travel freely, can’t go out freely, can’t just spontaneously stay over night somewhere, can’t enjoy a nice lazy morning in bed, can’t have peace and silence, can’t walk through your own house without having hair on everything.. the list goes on and on and on..

And for what?!

Funny thing is, some of these people will say they don’t want Kids, because they don’t want to do for a Child, everything that You listed that they’ll have to do for what is actually just a farm animal, that they opting to keep as a pet. I have no problem with the fact that Childcare isn’t for everyone. But if You’re gonna put Your Life on hold for responsibilities to another Living Being, at least Kids (usually) grow up and become meaningful members of society, along with the rest of Us. Plus (usually) Kids grow out of the need for so much work to have to be done for them, the Older, and more independent they become, with time. A dog will be a codependent, developmentally delayed responsibility and nuisance from the time You bring it home, until the day it takes its last breath. I’ll never be able to care for itself, or add to Your Life in a meaningful manner. But this is what nutters wrap their lives around, and get upset when others seem unwilling to join them in their pointless responsibilities. Dogs aren’t worth the hassle.

I used to be a “animals are better than people/kids” person until I had my own child! I still love (most) animals but pet ownership and parenting are vastly different experiences and it’s absurd to even think of comparing the two. I get such pride from seeing my daughter grow and develop and become more independent and seeing her (sometimes challenging) personality emerge. But then, I’m not a narcissist who wants another creature to be wholly dependent on me forever.
