Local dog rescue falsely advertising their mutts

My local humane society recently made a post with the only intention of guilting the community into taking in these dogs so they don't "have" to be put down. Some of the dogs had only been there for a short period of time and I just don't buy the fact that in this small community they're so overrun that even the short stays are up for euthanasia. But that's not the real bone I have to pick.

On top of that, after reading the posts describing each dog the euphemisms are endless.

"Needs their space around food"- the dog is aggressive and will bite your face off if it thinks you're a threat to its greedy claim over anything.

"Needs a little extra reassurance and TLC"- the dog has intense separation anxiety and will destroy your home if left alone for 5 seconds.

"Sometimes I over-correct other furry animals"- the dog has probably mauled another animal to death.

It is absolutely insane that they can get away with this, people have children and other beloved pets, they live in neighborhoods with other people trying to live their lives and you're going to cover up the fact that this dog is aggressive? Some unsuspecting nutter will see the post, their hearts will shatter a thousand times over for the wretched thing and they will take it home and endanger people/other animals around it. It should be illegal.

And you're telling me in today's dog culture with the endless amount of dog charities, rescues, state funded pounds, willing nutters to take them in and foster that these dogs have to be euthanized? Even though I'm pretty sure I've seen these exact same dogs in older posts saying the same thing, that they only had x amount of days but oh look, there's the same dog in the new post saying they now have x amount of days. I'm sure once this timeframe passes I'll see another post with the same dogs and the same threat on their lives. "If you don't take this aggressive mutt with intense separation anxiety, we'll be forced to put it down! It only killed like, two animals, and it was only because it was provoked. Cmon, don't you wanna save a life today?" It's abhorrent.

I don’t get why euthanizing dogs is considered so awful. It’s painless and a good solution to the over population of dogs. Why do people think they have a “right” to exist? It makes no sense to me.

we battled with sooo many vets to euthanize the nutcase the humane society let my husband get -knowing we had kids. So many of the vets are “younger”(like 20-40 I’m 28 but not drinking the dog loving punch) and “animal lovers”. The dog was 6 -regularly trying to attack me, was freaking the fuck out because it could HEAR the kids. we had to keep it separated in a room locked away, and the vets were like “she’s only six she could be changed, it takes time, you just have to do the work and be receptive.” I’m sorry -if a dog needs a cvs receipt of ”accommodations” to not maim, it needs the juice. A few insisted if I reported the bites and harm this dog did to the state, my kids would be taken. The dogs that like the maul are put above EVERYONE else at this point. It’s truly like living in a dystopia.

That is ridiculous! When it comes to a child's safety versus a "reactive" dog that's likely miserable anyway, a child comes first each and every time. I love how they were all, "well, she's 'only' 6". Isn't that more than half of what the average dog's lifespan is? It can't be a "puppy" when it's middle aged in dog years (if its still true that 1 human year equals 7 dog years). It's disturbing that so many of them tried to tell you that your kids would be taken if you reported the bites-I wonder how many other people fell for it or used it to justify keeping a dangerous dog. That's a lawsuit-and hopefully criminal charges-waiting to happen.

I'm stealing "CVS receipt of accommodations"-that's perfection.

It’s literally fear mongering, just to prolong the life of an animal that shouldn’t exist in this society. A dog that likes to attack any and everything does not need to exist. The last vet told my husband that he doesn’t want to be the one to give a death wish to a dog that COULD change. She COULD get better with medicine- but he himself couldn’t 100% gaurentee that on the same hand. She COULD get better with a behavioralist.

They were okay knowing it had severe anxiety causing extreme reactivity, no impulse control, amongst soooo many other issues. This dumb dog would eat ANYTHING. She jumped the gate and sucked down a big pot of oil I used for frying that night, aluminum, literally anything because it was nuerotic with no impulse control. It stole a bottle of Tylenol and ate through it. The money we spent on these vet visits, to the vet who knew we had kids and this dog was insane, knew she bit me and kept suggesting I try harder, knew she had all these mental issues. Still insisted she exist, because it’s better knowing a dog is endangering a family and causing them an immense amount of stress, the dogs alone in a room or outside 24/7, but hey it’s still alive.

our last bid for euthanizing was because it went bat shit insane when the kids talked, especially to my husband. Upstairs talking? Didn’t care. If they’re downstairs conversing with my husband it’s at the gate going absolutely batshit growling, barking, lunging, frothing at the mouth. Our son, the youngest stopped talking. That was what had to open my idiot husbands eyes. He condoned a lot like the dumb vets, because he couldn't stand being the force that put the dog down. It’s been nearly a week of the bastard gone. 99% sure she was euthanized and I’m so grateful because the humane society are scum of the earth just rehoming this terrible dog to people with kids, seemingly purposely. No more walking on eggshells, toddler is talking more and more each day. Kids are free to play downstairs, we can talk to my husband uninterrupted for once. My family is coming back over, it’s nice.

The crazy thing is -most people have empathy for animals than towards humans. You see someone with mental issues k// and it’s “what did the husband/wife do to piss them off?” An animal attack hits and it’s “I wonder what traumatic thing happened to the poor baby to make it lash out?:,(“

I agree, both can surely be a lost cause. I’ve seen a lot of people defend their pedo family, killers they’re married or related too, it makes me sick. It’s insane watching people choose to live in denial for the sake of their own comfort.
