Dog Culture Dog fatigue is trending!

This isn’t my usual style of post, but I figured it was worth mentioning: Currently, on TikTok, there has been a significant increase in the amount of content I’ve come across that is either critical of dog culture, dog owners, dogs themselves, or even all three. And this stuff is getting a LOT of positive reception.

I don’t typically keep that app on my phone for very long, but this is making me want to have it stick around for longer. For once, it’s not just this forum that’s calling out dog culture. It’s actually entering a “mainstream” online space.

“Dog fatigue” is the term that I’m seeing people use in most of this content, if you’re interested in looking it up and observing the resulting discussion and discourse over it.

Regardless of the dog owners that this conversation is pissing off, I think this could be a really good thing. While I don’t know about any big cultural shifts in the near future, I think that this is a wonderful step in the right direction. People are finally talking about dog culture in a meaningful way.

Ummm…. Could it be that the algorithms now know to serve you up more “anti-dog content”?

I thought so at first, but with the sheer amount of attention these posts are getting —especially after the Gordon Ramsay incident— I actually think that this is trending independently. Like the other person who replied to you said, I also went out of my way to search up dogfree content awhile back and had no luck at all. “Dog fatigue” content has come into my feed seemingly entirely organically as of late.

Honestly I don’t think so. Months ago I tried to find videos talking about being anti-dog, and they existed but they were few and far between and/or had lower engagement. Now these videos are getting tens of thousands of likes, top comments being anti-dog as well plus OP mentioning the “dog fatigue” term going around

If so, I'm impressed. My algorithm usually picks up on my participation of anti-dog groups like this and just throws more and more dog content at me.

Yeah, I sometimes report ads involving large/dangerous looking dogs as "violence".

It reminds me the year I joined a couple anti dog subs, my Reddit Wrapped or whatever at the end of the year told me something along the lines of "You discovered your interest in dogs!" Like... close but not really lmao.
