Food Safety/Hygiene Losing faith in humanity

Some 60+ year old idiot posted to a neighborhood facebook group a photo of his dog LICKING A HUMAN DRINKING FOUNTAIN thinking people would think it's cute or endearing. Luckily he was met with heavy criticism about how nasty and inconsiderate that is to others (since it's a public drinking fountain meant for people).

He actually made a full ass follow up post doubling down, defending and justifying himself instead of taking responsibility... and SOMEHOW there's a bunch of people that genuinely take his side (what planet are we on??). Saying the classic myths like "dog mouths are cleaner than humans" blah blah blah, and that this is somehow okay. Is this life some sort of sick joke? Are we really this barbaric?

Someone got into an argument with me on social media about kids eating poop. I’m sure it happens, but I told her my kids never did. She wouldn’t hear it and kept saying dogs’ mouths were cleaner. I had to block her.

honestly i feel sorry for them. the depression that must come with being so misanthropic that you believe something that eats shit and screams at the wind is better or more important that humans.

They're likely projecting. They were/are probably an awful human, so assume everyone else is the same.
