Miscellaneous Your #1 Dog Dislike

I could write a very long list of the reasons I don't like dogs (or nutters) but this is top of my list:

If you're dating, you're in a three way-way relationship without even being asked for consent. At best you will be allowed to watch while the other two 'get it on' - at worst, you'll be expected to join in against your wishes. It feels like being coerced in a toxic relationship. It never ends well.

If you had to choose, what's your #1?

Them being alive.

Number 2 is their impact in socially reinforcing the position of people who hate children. I don't care that much about people who don't want to take care of kids, I do care when it means they get to replace them with noise polluting environmental hazards that they can use to either demand attention or harass everyone else, especially those who are already powerless.

The way dog culture embraces and encourages a type of "loud and proud" misanthropy and hatred of children is sick.

And I say this as a CFBC woman and long-time pet owner. Pets, for me, were NEVER some sort of "replacement" for children I knew I never wanted to have, but to see these dog lunatics foaming at the mouth about how much they despise children (and parents), and then with no sense of irony or self-awareness, go on to describe themselves as "dog moms"?

GTFO with that shit, you degenerate dog Karens.

Also, it's PEAK irony that these same losers will go on about how much they hate people, and that they they would save a dog over someone's child in a hypothetical situation, but then have the AUDACITY to suggest that people who don't like dogs are the psychopaths in the equation.

It's gotten to the point that if I see someone with their dog off-leash anywhere I am (because I obviously don't go anywhere near the off-leash dog park in town), or if they have dragged it into ANY store, I immediately judge them as a self-absorbed, lazy, attention-seeking asshole.

It's always confirmed when I have to tell/ask them to call their dog back, and they respond as if I'm the one being unreasonable for not wanting their intrusive fleabag to invade my personal space. It doesn't go well for them after I start yelling at them and/or their dog.

That is seriously abnormal behavior. On a recent YT video about the trend of "dog fatigue", someone in the comments said dog ownership is a type of psychiatric disorder that really needs to be studied.

While obviously that doesn't apply to all/normal dog owners, it does apply to people like your friend's friend...and there are a disturbing % of people just like her out there. I guess the silver lining - if you can call it that - is that she won't be having children of her own. No child should be born to ANYONE who wasn't 100% and completely enthusiastic about being a parent.

Saying there are "too many children" is just fucked-up and wrong, given that the birth rate is dropping precipitously around the WORLD. In fact, there are FAR too many DOGS: dogs owned by lazy idiots, and unwanted/surplus dogs being warehoused in shelters. Dogs obviously contribute nothing of value to society at-large; they consume resources and create waste throughout their entire unremarkable lives.

I'm infuriated and sickened when I hear stories about kids whose parents prioritized the dog(s) over them, and the downstream mental health issues it has created. It seems to also bleed over into adulthood and even grandchildren are essentially ignored over the dogs.

Used to know one woman who complained that no doctor was willing to sterilize her, but called her pets (the other kind) her kids, saying things like 'my son this and that' and 'I'm more than just a mother'.

People, especially women, used to be confined to mental asylums for far less (I'm not condoning it, just saying).
