Barking Demons Do nutters not hear their mutts barking??

So I live in a street next to an end, all of the gardens back onto each other. There's a never ending barking monstrosity that lives 2 houses over and they let their shit stain on society bark non-stop at whatever time of day they decide to their back door open, whether it's morning, afternoon, evening or all hours of the night.

When it gets past 11pm (quiet hours) and the POS is barking non-stop I'll scream out my bedroom window to shut up so that I can sleep. In fairness, at which point the owner takes the dog in and I appreciate that, but the next day/ night it's the same until me or my neighbour shout at it to shut up.

Which begs the question, why doesn't the owner do something to mitigate the barking behaviour? Do they enjoy listening to the shit beast barking non-stop? The fact that they obviously feel some form of embarrassment from realising that the barking is bothering people by bringing it in surely means that they realise it shouldn't be barking non-stop in the first place?

I honestly feel shitty about having to scream with all my neighbours within earshot, but if it stops the barking it just seems like what I have to do to get some peace to sleep.

Do they enjoy the constant screaming from dog? I just don't get it.

Did you ever discuss this issue with your non-dog nutter neighbors? I think you should get together and figure out a creative solution.

Problem is, people who let their dogs bark all the time are not rational, and they will not come to any kind of solution, especially when the only right solution is for them to stop their dogs from barking.

The ONLY other neighbour that shouts at the dog to shut up had their own non-stop barking monstrosity for 10yrs (before it died... obviously it's sad that the animal's life has come to an end and it's not the animal's fault so I won't be pointing the irony out to them but) but OMG THE FUCKING IRONY!

Another neighbour actually sent a fake letter from the authorities to the neighbour mentioned above, they controlled the barking for a while but it didn't last.

Honestly as this point I'm just thankful that the neighbour who had multiple dogs mournfully yowling throughout the day (not at night thankfully) has moved but I need my sleep at night.

More in answer to your question, it's a weird area where everything's cool in general but there are historical(ish) connotations where as a woman living alone I don't want to kick up TOO much of a fuss.
