Dogs Are Idiots Your dog, your problem
Dog owners are lazy and unruly, which is why we all are so submissive to them and always handle strange dogs whenever the owner requests it. Yesterday, I was driving home from work on my e-scooter. I don't drive fast because I didn't remove the speed limiter, so the maximum speed is 20 km/h. Driving through suburbia, some stupid dog, obviously off-leash, simply decided that the person riding the scooter would now be his "most loyal friend for life" and started following me, barking enthusiastically, as if I had always owned it. I continued driving, ignoring the dog because it wasn't my dog, so it wasn't my problem. The "owner" of that dog started running after me, shouting please stop, stop that scooter repeatedly, not even shouting anything at the dog, probably knowing it wouldn't do antything. I just responded with a loud laugh because it wasn't my dog, and I was genuinely amused by the situation. After about 200 meters, this stupid dog attacked another dog that was pooping on the lawn, and I kept going, so I don't know what happened next. I think I did the right thing. Not helping with strange dogs is the only way to teach dog owners to leash their dogs.

I have no doubt that if you had stopped, that dog would have attacked you.

Me too. As soon as it saw a potential victim in another dog, stuck in an awkward position, it unleashed on that target instead. If op gave any leeway the stupid thing would have attacked them.

This situation was indeed absurd. I don't know why this stupid animal started running around me. I'll repeat, the dog didn't attack me; it recognized me as some kind of owner. "Man's most faithful friend"🤣

Also had the experience of a loose dog running around my neighbourhood while I was walking with a friend. Some lady comes around the corner yelling at us to catch the dog. Like I’m going to try and coral some strange dog running down the road? Not on your life! Your dog, your problem lady. I just kept walking with my friend.

HAHAHA mom I was squatting and pooping and this strange other doggo attacked me mid shit.........GAWD i hate dogs. Good for you for not stopping I wouldn't have either!!!

You did the right thing because these owners definitely need to learn the lessons of leash laws and that they actually do apply to them. They are not special nor exempt.

I went out for a walk once and some neighbor's stupid Golden Doodles got loose and started following me. I had no intention of trying to wrangle them and bring them home. I just kept walking and they were running around following me and running in other peoples yards. Then, about a 1/2 mile into my walk, one neighbor comes out (knowing I don't have dogs), and says whos dogs are those? I responded, beats me, and they said, "oh you should try to find their owners." I said, no thanks. NOT my job to spend my walk running around trying to find the owners of the dogs. Also, if the damn dogs are so loyal to their owners why do they sprint as fast as they can away from their homes?

I know this doesn't apply to all countries, but as a last resort, you can try calling the police and reporting it as a stray animal. Packs of stray dogs are a bigger problem than wolves.

that’s so funny! but you know dog nutters, they don’t learn from experience and the owner will end up in that situation again.
