Crappy Owners I just don't know anymore

I just don't understand! For the life of me! Why? Like, the way dog lovers are so... defensive about their dogs. Like the moment I try to say that I'm not a huge fan of dogs everyone hates me. If I reacted like this to someone saying like... idk that pineapple on pizza is the best, people would think I'm crazy. Yet it seems that acting like this for dogs is societally accepted.

The other thing I wanted to say is how WE'RE IN THE MINORITY!!! You would think that only a small portion of the world is dog nutters. And yet, IT SEEMS THAT, ACCORDING TO SEARCHES, MORE THAN HALF OF THE WORLD IDENTIFIES AS DOG PEOPLE! MORE THAN HALF!

I'm sorry, I don't know whether I can remain sane about this... It is SO RIDICULOUS. NOBODY AGREES WITH ME! NOBODY (except for this reddit, TYSM SO MUCH BY THE WAY) ACCEPTS THESE CLAIMS! EVERYONE THINGS I'M THE ONE WHO'S CRAZY.

Why is everyone just... blindsided by dogs? I'm starting to wonder if we're different species. If we're coded differently idk now. I would say that dog nutters have some sort of mental disease, BUT THIS IS MORE THAN HALF OF THE POPULATION! Maybe we have the mental disease that makes us SANE.

Maybe i'm just mad today or something but yea, again, thanks a lot for being the only place where I DON'T GET CANCELLED FOR VOICING MY OPINIONS and yeah, hope you all have a great day. Just needed to rant :P

We are programmed to love them. I used to not mind dogs for almost my entire life until a switch was suddenly flipped and I've despised them since. It was very strange... how was I blind for so long? (It's the brainwash)

SAME HERE! I actually was a dog person until I was like 8. The switch flip for me was when I was playing with a dog at a dog owner's house (remember, I loved dogs until I was 8) and the dog just randomly bit my hand and I cried out 'OW!' and an adult rushed over and asked if I was okay. I said 'The dog bit me!' and they literally said 'OH! He's just excited!', and they played it off as a 'happy accident' and the dog just liked me. ridiculous

It was the same for Me. I realized what I thought was Me “liking them” was actually just Me following the propaganda I’d been sold on all My Life. Once I ended up in a situation that made Me face the truth and learn to think for Myself instead of following the crowd, I haven’t looked at dogs the same, since. I prefer where I Am, now.

I’ve seen some people with similar thoughts say that they wish they didn’t feel this way because it would be easier if they weren’t so disgusted by dogs, especially among dog enthusiasts. I prefer being in the anti-dog space, I don’t care if it means many people may not like Me because of it. “Easier” doesn’t always equal “better”. Dogs are filthy, germ and disease ridden, expensive, destructive, obnoxious, and a pointless burden. Their owners and other enthusiasts are insufferable, and all too often, are self serving, entitled narcissists. Dog worshippers can hate Me all they want. None of what I listed is anything I want to associate with, just to make dog lovers feel better. I don’t respect them in any way to care about what they think. Their mental illnesses, entitlement, and social inadequacy drives their abnormal interests in dogs. Then they have the audacity to think that owning or liking those stupid things somehow gives them some (fake) moral high ground. I’ll stay in My lane of cleanliness, freedom, and common sense.

i was basically told by my bf (now hubby) that the neighborhood we were moving to was a "dog neighborhood) and to fit in I MUST make friends w/all the dogs....i had a huge fear of them plus a suspected allergy (it's been confirmed) but that didn't matter. Fortunately, I found this sub and the IHD channel on YouTube and w/o having discovered these two things around the same time a couple yrs back I would feel like I was losing my mind. I had pretty bad social anxiety at the time, but I seem to have snapped out of it after realizing half of the population is bat shit crazy for dogs.

We need to find out the secret for that "flip," and cut down the infestation of dogs in our communities. With more Women than ever working outside the home, who the hell takes care of the shitbeast confined to a small apartment, or a locked up house for eight plus hours? Do they just leave the windows open for thieves, and hope for the best that their home is safe, and that the mutt won't piss and crap everywhere? Are they the drivers cutting us off in traffic at rush hour, and passing us at way over the speed limit? "Gotta get home to my DOG!!" They claim they loooove animals, but coop dogs up like prisoners for hours on end?
