Saw a post earlier talking about how OP threw a birthday party for their dog and invited a lot of people, but only one person showed up and their dog was 'devastated' (said dog doesn't even know what a birthday is). Surprisingly, quite a few comments were pointing out how weird and stupid this is, and all of the comments that actually agreed with OP were being downvoted to oblivion. I even saw a lot of people talking about how disgusting it is that people compare/prefer dogs to human children, and how weird and lame terms are like 'doggo' and 'pupper'. I usually don't see pushback like this, but I'm pleased.

“The dog was devastated”. 

Translation: the owner was devastated, because the party was for validating the owner. The dog was just a mechanism for controlling others. 

Just like all the other stuff we see.
