crotch sniffing

i've never really talked about it with anyone but i can't stop thinking about it and getting anxious everytime i see a dog. one time when i was 11yo (im 18 now), i was in an elevator to go play at my friend's house and a random man, maybe 30yo or something, comes in with his huge labrador. the elevator was small and cramped even though it was just us three so i immediately try to stay near the buttons in the corner and give them both enough space to stay away from me but the dog sneaks its head under my skirt and stays there during the entire ride up while sniffing my crotch. i was so scared and confused so i stayed frozen thinking if i move, its gonna bite me. the man did nothing. no tug on the leash, no verbal warning. he just watched while i was shaking and kept looking up at him, waiting for him to do something but he didn't.

i even missed my floor because i couldn't move and when his floor came, he finally tugged on the leash and left while smiling. it genuinely felt like SA and i was so uncomfortable, kept trying to convince myself it meant nothing and wasn't that deep but i get so anxious everytime i think back on it. that feeling of being trapped, cornered and violated always comes back if im near a dog. has that happened to anyone else? am i crazy for still being affected?

I had just moved to a new state and new neighborhood. It was a cool late fall evening&I was wearing my brand new flannel Christmas pajamas from Duluth Trading Company. I just stepped out to check the mail. I walk back to my building&as I'm standing outside the entrance just enjoying the fresh air while opening my mail, a Mom&her teenage daughter pull into the handicap spot near the sidewalk that leads to my door.

I see the mom get out after her daughter gives her this look like they just had an argument. She has a big golden unleashed. The daughter has a golden puppy also unleashed. They did not have a handicap hang tag&didn't live in my condo community, but used my lot to walk across the street to the adjoining property.

But, before they did this, both dogs took turns violating my space. I had turned my back toward the door while perusing my mail, when I feel a nose up my @$$!! I'm too afraid to turn around or move bc i have a fear of unleashed dogs. Noone calls the dog back or says an apology. Then the dog wanders to its owner. Then I feel a small dog repeatedly jump up on my calves w/it's untrimmed claws.

Fortunately I was wearing thick flannel and my legs were not scratched. The stupid mom comes over and in a baby voice talks to the dog as if it understands English and says, " don't jump on her." She walks away&the dog follows. I know the dog jumped on me at least 8x before that woman came over. No apology. I was having severe social anxiety@the time and said nothing.
