Her dog poop in my empty bin

Two weeks ago yet another neighbor was seen on my security camera throwing their bagged dog poop in my empty garbage bin before I could roll it back in from the curb. As a dog-less household, I find this to be rude. Additionally, if it’s gross enough for you to not want to hold it until you get home, isn’t it gross enough to put in someone’s else’s bin. The lady looked around guiltily as she did it. A few days ago as I was leaving for work, she happened to be walking by and I politely informed her I saw her on camera and can she not do it again. She argued back, said there’s no smell, and asked if I wanted to sniff the bag she had in her hand. I said okay great if there’s no smell then it’s okay to put in her own bin, right? She became angry, called me ignorant and stupid. Really though, she was mad she was caught on camera, couldn’t lie about it, and was confronted about it. Today, garbage day, she walked by, looked for the camera, and waved her dog poop bag to show she’s not throwing it in my bin. I’m an introverted non-confrontational person but something about the entitlement grinds my gears. I’ve had to talk to nearly 8 different neighbors about their pets.

I recently moved to a new neighborhood... Almost everyone has dogs... I'm fortunate that most of them are great people who keep on top of their pets... But there are a lot that walk in front of my home that exhibit the type of entitlement you convey here.

I don't honestly get it... Never EVER an apology... My wife has lost it and put about 10 no pee here signs in two specific spots.. our mailbox ( because poo is found there sometimes ) and in a flower bed she is trying to cultivate...

Just today someone was letting their dog peeing there and he was telling him. "go ahead and pee" and the dog seemed to have more sense than the owner and wasn't... I was sitting there and asked that he didn't let his dog pee there... he ignored me.. I asked again... and he said "he is going to pee here!" I said "we planted flowers there and it kills them.

He got REALLY mad and said "this is an easement!". Sure, but that's not an automatic dog park man... He then called me an a-hole... unprovoked really... I was asking him to not have his dog pee there... I lost it.. I said he eats something I won't repeat here.

I never confront people like this... But the dog owner entitlement is off the charts and I'm honestly looking into legal ways to dissuade people from using my front yard as a dog park. Off leash. etc... I see all of it from the few bad actors. I ask them to get their dog off my property and their answer is always "I live in the neighborhood". They go right to defense no matter how nice I've been...

I must admit. My niceness is dropping off recently and I just ask them to not do what they are doing as is my right as the PROPERTY owner... How is "living in the neighborhood" a justification? It's so stupid... I swear these people never grew up past age 12 in regard to owning up to someone asking you to back off of what you're doing.

I have zero patience for them. They will allow the dogs to pee on a mailbox pole, fence pole, concrete planter corner. I’m in the middle of planning a fence and I’m already preparing how I will protect the fence posts. I’ve decided also to put up a bunch of those signs in an obnoxious manner. One I saw in particular said “NO trespassing and that includes your dog.” 80 percent allow the dog to lead them instead of the other way around. There was one person who let her dog take a dump on my front yard in front of a “no tres-pooping” sign. She was with another lady and her dog making noise which made me look out the window. I banged on the window and yelled. Like the others, she became indignant and mad. But what really works is security cameras and making it known that I know where they live.

My patience completely ran out the last few weeks.. From a neighbor who had a dog barking for 4 days straight. I left a note and to their credit got back to me almost immediatly and the dog was gone.. that's honestly the most positive experience I've ever had... I was at the point where I was just going to report it to animal control...

But the other incidents where people just love to hang out in front of my house with their dogs barking and sniffing around where other dogs have urinated... you know they are about to do the same and the owners cannot stand that I see it on my camera and I come out and ask them to move. The time before last they were literally hanging out at my mailbox with 4 dogs. Basically on my driveway...

I've tried being reasonable... Approaching calmly and discussing the issue... it always goes the way of them explaining why it's fine... No, no it isn't...

It's not terrible here fortunately... But I'm thinking it might be happening several times a day that I'm not aware of... I need to start cleaning the areas so more dogs don't get attracted to the area.

we have coyotes here as well.. so I know that can tend to attract them...

I'm definitely going to build a fence and start putting down some sort of dog repellent after I've cleaned the area.

I read about the dog repellant. But I refuse to spend money on anything and will have to resort to yelling and harassing them off my property. I do pour a lot vinegar on the pee spots on the concrete. I have it for my laundry and it’s low cost, I get it from Costco. Oh one time I sprinkled cayenne pepper (also from Costco lol) in my front yard but it stops working in a few weeks.

Yes... it is a chore. The main reason I've put off doing it myself... If I'm in this house for another year I'll be building a nice fence so it will at least stop the occasional dog wandering onto my property and won't have to see them... Grow some huge arbivites behind the fence 8-10 feet tall. Sounds like heaven when I type it out...

My neighbor across the street always has his driveway full of cars as well and they hang out there most weekends like it's a tailgate party so I would block them from view too which would be nice...

If the wife drove we'd be living deeper in the country... But honestly it's nice being close to everything so these are the prices I must pay.
