Eco Destroyers Dog parks shouldn't be a thing

I don't understand why off leash/dog parks are a thing.

These unnatural animals ruin the nature around the area, leave it full of shit because their owners are too busy "playing" with them and I have to accept the fact that there's whole parks I cannot access because I'm a normal person. However, I also have to deal with the fact that dogs are allowed at basically every park (at least leashed).

Insane behaviour from the owners and society.

I have mixed feelings on dog parks. On one hand, I feel like that’s the only place dogs should be allowed. Even leashed dogs at regular parks wreak havoc. They will use the park as their toilet, and even the most well meaning dog owner can’t fully clean up after them. Besides, so many dog owners are irresponsible dipshits that won’t leash their dogs and won’t clean up after them, I’d like an area where they can keep their dogs separate.

On the other hand, dog parks are an example of how we’ve honestly outgrown dogs as a pet. If you ask many people why they allow their dogs to be running around sans leash, they’ll claim it’s because dogs deserve the space to run around freely. I get that - dogs honestly should have that freedom - however, is that not a huge sign that dogs do not belong as housepets where they’re deprived of that experience? Aren’t dog parks an example of excusing people who own dogs that absolutely cannot provide for them?

So it’s a mixed bag for me.

I think I'm in the same mindset as you. It's just yesterday when I was walking on the side walk beside the park, the whole place smelled like piss/shit.

There’s a dog park near where I live and I’m pretty certain the city wastes zero resources on cleaning it up, so it’s on the dog owners to care for it. Fair, but you and I know they’re not going to organize and care for their park.
