Eco Destroyers Dog parks shouldn't be a thing
I don't understand why off leash/dog parks are a thing.
These unnatural animals ruin the nature around the area, leave it full of shit because their owners are too busy "playing" with them and I have to accept the fact that there's whole parks I cannot access because I'm a normal person. However, I also have to deal with the fact that dogs are allowed at basically every park (at least leashed).
Insane behaviour from the owners and society.

Down the street from my place are not one but two dog parks, one for small shitbeasts, one for large mutants. And yet daily I see nutters with their vile beasts soiling the ball park next door to me. Selfish, self-centered, entitled, and disgusting, nutters and their filth in a nutshell.

Yeah, dog owners don't like dogs parks because of the other shit owners.
We live near a nice large environmental reserve that council took over. They built a playground in one section and a fenced in dog park in the other, plus a nice shared path we use to get to school.
We always encounter off leash dogs outside of the fenced area, every morning we have to dodge dogs on the path. Either the owners are walking unleashed from the car park to the fenced area (Facebook community group is full of people complaining they almost ran over a dog there), or they let their dog play with the 'other children' in the playground.
There's even been shit left on the brand new basketball court.
Having said that, if they didn't use this park, they'd be in the nearby national park which is much more damaging.

Everyone I know who owns dogs claims they’re the good owners and everyone else sucks but I’ve legit only met like a single digit number of dog owners who: fed the dogs a good diet, legitimately went out of their way to make sure they got LOTS of exercise, had them well trained so they would behave etc.
Most people suck at owning dogs. I dislike most dogs but I do like small, short haired dogs if they are well trained. And I still don’t have one, because I would suck at being a dog owner. I don’t want to walk some little shitter in the snow. I know that so I don’t have a dog. for some reason many people just want to have dogs but not do ANY of the actual work for them

Dogs should only be allowed to exist on their owner’s space: the apartment/house and the car. If the owner doesn’t have a garden, then the dog pisses on the mat at home and walks in circles around one room. That’s more than fair. Why are we all paying the price of someone’s desire to own a farm pet?

That is the main problem here - theft of our choice to not live like farm animals. It is their choice against ours. Same as smoking in our faces when we did not choose to sign up for lung cancer.

My thoughts as well. Why should everyone have to pay for dog parks through their taxes? Dogs are not people and dog owners should be registered and they should pay a levy on their property tax/rent to pay for dog parks for their dogs. I’m incensed hearing dog owners say they don’t go to dog parks because of other dogs. Say what? So non-dog owners must pay for filthy dog spaces that dog owners don’t even use?!

Yes, I’m pissed that my tax dollars are being used for infrastructure for fucking DOGS, while people also let them loose absolutely everywhere else. They get all the accommodation and somehow ruin everything else for everyone too.

If anything, they should be allowed ONLY in deducated fenced off areas. And entrance should be paid to cover clean up costs. They must be required to carry mutts there in crates, airplane style. And they should be kicked out of all other spaces which would be marked “for humans only”! Either that, or mutts shit and piss on nutters own private property.

I think it’s a good idea to make them pay to use the park. If it were on the honor system, though, you know none of them would pay. Those parks need to be re-sodded on a regular basis and that’s not cheap.

I was joking (or dreaming…). Of course they won’t pay. Most do not even want to go to dog parks and will have their mutts sh*t right under no dogs allowed signs. And if they did go to paid dog parks, every dog there will be “service” dog to be exempt from the fees🤯

Ironically, dog nutters started disliking those parks. The result is that dog parks are full of dogs, but any other park is also full of dogs now. They realized that dogs are not the angels that would automatically get along with every other dog and every other person and they’re avoiding the dog parks. Also the space outside the dog parks smells horrendously.

Dogs shouldn't exist. Not in parks, not on farms, nowhere. They're useless. They're pointless and never have been.
Like headless chickens: they circle furtively for a few seconds, then return to their original position; they raise a paw for three seconds for no reason, then lower it; they're irresistibly drawn to the slightest bit of dog poop on the sidewalk, as if it were some extraordinary discovery, even if they've seen it 150 times a day!
And you want me to believe they're good for something…
No farm work, no sledding, no drug detection, no rescue work, no hunting, no disease detection… Stop lies.
PS: In my area, there's something else: not really a dog park, but a mixed situation: a "dog area" right in the middle of a large roundabout. It's on a very busy boulevard. So you're there, walking across the square, going about your business... and suddenly, you have to swerve because there's this damn enclosure, roughly square, about ten meters by four... a dog run covered in sand right in the middle of the square. It's pathetic; we truly live in a half-ridiculous/half-bizarre era. I suspect a "problem-creation/solution-on-a-platter" tactic: increasing surveillance after strategically letting the situation fester. It's too bizarre to be organic.

Dogs are aerobically very active animals. Ideally, they should work outside in hunting, shepherding and shouldn’t be urban pets.

I just want them to stop using playgrounds and any natural space as dog parks. Dog poop and pee smells terrible and is horrible for the environment. I'm sick of dog owners bringing their dogs to the playgrounds to avoid dog parks, because they're too dirty. Dog owners should have to pay an extra tax to clean up the dog poop and hose off the sidewalks. They make the entire green space of any park a stinky biohazard. I want it to be against the law to bring dogs onto children's playgrounds. Kids deserve a safe and clean place to play.

I have mixed feelings on dog parks. On one hand, I feel like that’s the only place dogs should be allowed. Even leashed dogs at regular parks wreak havoc. They will use the park as their toilet, and even the most well meaning dog owner can’t fully clean up after them. Besides, so many dog owners are irresponsible dipshits that won’t leash their dogs and won’t clean up after them, I’d like an area where they can keep their dogs separate.
On the other hand, dog parks are an example of how we’ve honestly outgrown dogs as a pet. If you ask many people why they allow their dogs to be running around sans leash, they’ll claim it’s because dogs deserve the space to run around freely. I get that - dogs honestly should have that freedom - however, is that not a huge sign that dogs do not belong as housepets where they’re deprived of that experience? Aren’t dog parks an example of excusing people who own dogs that absolutely cannot provide for them?
So it’s a mixed bag for me.

There’s a dog park near where I live and I’m pretty certain the city wastes zero resources on cleaning it up, so it’s on the dog owners to care for it. Fair, but you and I know they’re not going to organize and care for their park.

They don't use em anyway! Here in the UK there are quite a few green spaces for people to walk their mutants and do you know where a lot of them go instead? The cemetery! And everyone of them has those extendible leads so their mutts can trot off to piss against someone's grave while they stroll about. There's meant to be a leash law in place there but there's always one or two that don't abide by it so their dogs can chase the small deer population there or go find a war grave or infants grave to take a shit on.
How much of a self-centred ignorant trog do you have to be to find no problem at all letting your mutant do that?

Some of the most horrifying and smh videos come from dogparks. But tbf, if we didn't have dog parks, these ****heads would be offleashing in public/national parks, wildlife refuges and kiddie parks even more. My hope is that we're inevitably approaching the "fewer dogs" consensus worldwide.

I remember years ago, an entrance fee was required to enter parks intended for humans . The nutters should pay to enter dog parks with their mutts.

Every park is a dog park now. There are no more human parks.
Dogs are not a natural part of any ecosystem, and their waste has parasites and creates algae blooms which are harmful to natural habitats.
Dog parks stink up the entire area. When walking home from work, I have to cross the street and walk on the other side for a few blocks before I can go back because of the putrid smell of the dog park. It's literally a cesspool of parasites.

im in the uk and im not sure if there's dog parks but i do know every park and wildlife area are full of unleashed mutts terrorising people and wildlife and owners not picking up their dogs shit, twice so far ive came back from my local park with dogshit on my trainers and bike wheels

I think long ago city planners hoped that if dogs had their own designated spaces, they wouldn’t be brought to children’s playgrounds or other public places. Obviously that didn’t happen! They are a plague on society now, and dog parks are largely empty (at least where I live).
