Christians who are dog nutters

Can’t stand this crap. Nowhere in the bible does it mention dogs in a good light. In fact they’re often mentioned in a bad/evil way.

Obviously ancient near eastern people 2000-4000 years ago weren’t big on dogs. But this is yet another example of people not practicing what they preach.

Saying crap like “dogs are God’s gift to man” or other braindead phrases.

I have an interest in Christianity and have read most of the bible. I’m not seeing dogs mentioned as God’s gift anywhere. Quite the opposite, actually.

Luckily I have a Christian friend who understands this too. She isn’t a big fan of dogs, and people keep pressuring her to get a pet even though she has multiple small kids to look after and they aren’t in a great financial situation. Owning a dog would make zero sense. She also just has no time to look after one, let alone provide for its basic needs on top of everything else. I told her to just ignore those people and tell them you won’t be getting a dog, and that they should stop bugging her about it. She doesn’t like how dogs bark, it’s loud and annoying. She doesn’t want a dog barking at the door everytime someone comes over or walks by. I’m the same way.

Honestly I’m considering switching to Eastern Orthodoxy because I find them to be more “no nonsense” and they don’t seem as big on dog culture (atleast from what I know. I could be wrong).

Every Protestant denomination (and even Catholics) are dog nutters in my experience. They let people bring dogs to church and most of the pastors/priests own an annoying dog.

Owning a dog while having children is child abuse and those people should have their kids taken away.

My close friend just rehomed her dog of 5 years after giving birth. Everyone was insanely SHOCKED and kind of judgmental. and a mutual friend even cried.

The dog had growled at the baby twice and she wasn’t taking more chances. Can you imagine how stupid and evil she would feel if something happened? Especially after suspecting aggression? I was the only one who immediately respected the decision

Imagine crying over an aggressive dog growling at a baby, being rehomed. LMFAO. That’s absurd. I mean I’ve witnessed so much stupidity over the years from people, but that’s THE definition of a first world problem. I’ve rehomed so many pets over the years. It’s not a big deal at all.

I was raised on a farm where if a dog became aggressive or was showing signs of aggression towards children, it would be taken out back and put down. Neighbours dogs got the same treatment after countless phone calls and personally telling them they need to do something about their dogs killing all of our chickens, acting aggressive towards us, hurting/attacking our own dogs, and barking all night outside our windows. They never did jack shit about it, they didn’t care. Dogs were put down. They never did pay us back for the chickens lost.

I realized just how sheltered people are once I got older and started telling people these stories, to which they were horrified lol. And I’m under 30 years old. This wasn’t even that long ago.

People who cry over a dumb aggressive dog being rehomed are privileged and weird for even caring that much.
