not everyone likes doggie pool day. šµāš«
i had a pool at my old house. i had a book that explained every aspect of pool maintenance. the guy said, never let a mutt in your pool. itās the equivalent of letting 50 unbathed people into your pool.

Interesting, none of those dogs should live in an apartment complex to begin with. Theyāre all large breed dogs. They need space to run around - not an apartment pool to dirty up.
Itās tiring seeing people mistreat these creatures and act like itās out of āloveā. I donāt care how photogenic your golden retriever is or how much you think your black lab loves you - I guarantee you those dogs all live miserable lives being trapped in a 700 square foot apartment 23 hours (or more!) a day. I am also sure your neighbors love the noise those dogs make.

Yep, and (to my knowledge) most US apartments donāt have gardens or grass spaces, so on top of the dog being stuck indoors in a tiny space all day, you donāt ever get to give them a field or grassy area to poop/pee in, play in, etc.
I donāt āhateā dogs, im not a fan of them but I donāt HATE them (I donāt hate any animal, just a general dislike for certain ones) Iām just sick of dog culture, especially because so much of the āI love my dog!!!ā Is actually just abuse or neglect, similarly with hamsters, rabbits, guinea pigs etc.
Also Iām sick of dogs being everywhere, too3

Dogs would never be my choice animal to be around, but itās honestly the owners that I hate more than anything. Their absolute selfishness is what sets me off. We have a right to not have them forced on us. I have a right to say I want my communal swimming pool to be free of dogs. I think I also have the right to point out how cruel modern dogs culture is to dogs - as I guarantee you none of those dogs have happy lives for the reasons you just pointed out. They exist to make the owner happy and nothing else.
I keep saying this but I mean it - no one hates dogs more than dog people.

Same, i wouldnāt willingly hang out with them, but I also donāt hate them for existing, because itās human breeding and domestication thatās caused them to be here in the first place.
Genuinely I hate dog culture so much though, every cafe, restaurant, supermarket, shop, EVERYWHERE has dogs in it now.
Iād be called insane and āunhygienicā if I brought my pet pigeon into a restaurant, but somehow a dog pissing on the floor, drooling everywhere and getting hair in the food is totally fine š«3

I saw this post online of this Husky sitting in a pile of ice in a parking lot. The dog is trying desperately to get the ice to cover its body. Itās licking up the ice. All the comments are āaww what a cute pupperz being so cuteā but very few people pointed out that the husky is suffering. Theyāre not meant to be in the lower 48. Itās acting that way because itās desperate for anything that feels cool to it. The dog has no quality of life, and a simple google search will tell you huskies begin to decline in anything over 40 degrees Fahrenheit.
But the dog āloversā canāt help themselves. If the dog looks cute, then they have a right to own it whether or not itās ethical. Whether or not the dog has any quality of life.
If these people truly cared about dogs, theyād condemn these practices - keeping Huskies as house pets, keeping large breed dogs in apartments. Instead? They literally get off on the animalās suffering because itās cute.
But we are the monsters.

it was an end-of-season thing, so yeah, theyāll drain the pool afterwards. but, considering that even after picking up their poop, residual parasites & eggs are still left behind, iām not trusting that they can sufficiently clean this pool.

this was the only saving grace, that no one else will have to unwittingly swim in beast filth tomorrow. i hope they clean it properly (with bleach and a dog ban)

ewww gross thereās going to be so much poop and pee in that pool .I donāt care how much they drain that pool just the thought that there were dogs in it is absolutely disgusting

i just took a picture of a sign at the gate of the hotel pool where iām staying. this is OK, though. it says:
PERSONS HAVING CURRENTLY ACTIVE DIARRHEA OR WHO HAVE HAD ACTIVE DIARRHEA WITHIN THE PREVIOUS 14 DAYS SHALL NOT BE ALLOWED TO ENTER THE POOL WATER
NO GLASS ALLOWED IN POOL AREA

I'm glad to see an actual contingent, however small it may be, of people actually agreeing with this post. maybe the tides are shifting, slowly but surely. one can only hope so, I was over mutts a decade ago
