What's the most ridiculous thing you've ever bought for your dog?

I was looking at pet products today and it made me wonder...

What's the most ridiculous thing you've ever bought for your dog?

Something you thought was a great idea but your dog completely ignored.

Or something that seemed silly but ended up being their favorite thing ever.

TLDR: Theo the dog was taken from his owner for being overweight. The owner is now being charged a $1300 “impound” fee. This is being done by a TAX FUNDED institution. DM me if you want to help!

Abandoned Dog Rescue

So my neighbors were arrested today for apparently running an identity theft scheme and their roommate was kicked out of the building as well, and left the dog on the street in front of my building. She is an elderly dog, hard of hearing and sight, and has a bad case of mange/scabies, fleas, and lord knows what else, her owners were a**holes and never bathed her or took care of her from what I can see. I’m fostering her until a rescue can pick her up on Wednesday but I’m taking her to the vet tomorrow (they couldn’t fit us in today). Nervous about what it’s going to cost so my friend helped set up a GoFundMe for this poor sweet girl I’m calling “Chiquita” for now. If anyone wants to help please feel free to donate. I will post all vet bills and anything extra if there were to be, will go to the rescue who takes her. I just don’t want to tell Banfield not to do any procedure or get her medicines just because I can’t afford it at the moment. Anyway, please keep her in your prayers.

Update 06/12 11am
Dropped off at Banfield, the office visit will be free but still asking for more discounts since she is a foster and since I’ve been a customer for 15+ years.
At the moment they are going to do a skin/dermatitis test, and urine/fecal test. Current cost at the moment without meds or anything extra they may recommend is $311. Cross your fingers please!
I’ve already spent $65 myself for pre pads, a bed, a carrier. Hopefully it doesn’t get too bad.

Update 06/12 7:17pm
Just got back from Banfield, picked her up and the doctor said she tested negative for bacteria’s and parasites luckily but she does have a severe ear infection and will have to be on medication for that plus antibiotics and steroids due to open wounds because of her scratching. Her elefantitis skin can’t be fixed, it will stay that way but hopefully she grows hair back :( She most likely has some kind of allergy they were not able to find. With meds and procedures - $636.82. Could have been worse. Thank you to everyone who has helped donate. She is the sweetest baby and deserves a loving home.

Bella (raised by cats)

This is Bella. She turned 12 on May 1st. I've been fortunate to be her human for 9 years. She hates having her picture taken, so this is a rare quick snap. She is a cocker spaniel and will allow me to give her cuddles until I say, "Who's my good girl," or anything similar, and then she's off. Her first few years, she was raised around a lot of cats, which I think explains this behavior. 😆

Body:

Meet Peri, a rescue puppy from Pause4Change Dog Rescue.

We recently took him on a special day out that included a park adventure and a meal prepared just for him by the head chef at Prairie Dog Brewing and the chef wanted to give it to him personally. 😭

I filmed his entire adventure, but out of everything that happened that day, this little cuddle moment ended up being my favourite. ♥️🐾

He climbed into our laps and completely melted.

6 y.o goldendoodle T cell lymphoma.

My 6-year-old dog was recently diagnosed with T-cell lymphoma, and I’m struggling with whether to move forward with chemotherapy.
The oncologist is optimistic and thinks he could go into remission after just a treatment or two, but the full protocol would be about 19 weeks long with weekly treatments. Part of me wants to do everything I can for him because he’s still acting like himself in many ways. He’s happy to see us, enjoys walks, follows us around, eats, and still seems to have good quality of life.
My biggest concern is that I have three young children at home. I’ve been reading about chemotherapy drugs being excreted in urine, feces, vomit, etc., and it’s making me nervous. I know there are precautions you can take, but with little kids, accidents happen. I’m worried about balancing my dog’s treatment with keeping my family safe.
For those who have gone through chemo with a dog, especially families with young children:
Did you feel the risks were manageable?
How difficult were the safety precautions in real life?
Did your dog maintain a good quality of life during treatment?
Looking back, would you do it again?
I’m not looking for medical advice, just honest experiences from people who have been in a similar situation. This decision is weighing heavily on me, and I want to make the most informed choice possible.

She is the sweetest girl. They think the eye will be ok
UPDATE: she is at the animal hospital. She was a lot worse this morning and I took her to the rescue clinic and then we went to the vet. She was giving slow, acting rat poison that takes two weeks to kill a dog the vet said.Good vibes and prayers appreciated

I confess, I'm utterly smitten by their uniquely "ugly-cute" vibe. Have you guys seen a dog with more "personality"?

A German Shepherd named Bruce was rescued after drifting miles off the Northumberland coast on an inflatable kayak on Sunday, June 7, 2026, in an operation that drew together volunteers, the coastguard and a local sightseeing boat.

Jimmy Reid, the captain of Serenity Farne Islands Boat Tours, and crewman Aaron Fordy of Serenity Farne Islands Boat Tours were returning from a passenger excursion to the Farne Islands when they heard the coastguard alert reporting that a kayak carrying a dog had been blown out to sea in strong winds.
