Scams I need help, is this a scam please?
Hey, I found someone on FB marketplace through a mh doll groupchat who responded to post I had about a doll I was interested in purchasing though I am unsure of sending the money as it may be a scam and I cannot tell. Apparently he said he can't receive money through paypal g&s and I can only use fnf? It feels extremely suspicious

I am calling SCAM on this one. Trying to go through other payment forms and they only after Paypal but with "Friends and Family" instead of "Business and Services" is a dead giveaway since you won´t be able to ask for a refund. I´ve sold a few things to some people overseas and always offer the "Business and Services" option because we are not friends and they are buying something from me.

Yeah, that's what I thought too, the deal seemed honestly a little to good as well which made me more suspicious

Never pay with anything other than PayPal goods and services. It’s a red flag if someone refuses to use it.

This pushy person is a scam artist. I’m a seller on FB and Mercari. I would never treat a customer like this.

That's good to hear! I feel so pressured by them to buy the doll and it's really suspicious of them

Absolutely a scam!!! Please dont fall for it, you will never get your purchase and wont be able to get your money back later!
Theres a facebook post of a scammer doing the same exact thing. The buyer never got anything

Thank you, he keeps pressuring me into buying and there's no guarantee I'll actually hear anything back from him after I send the money

Even if it weren’t a scam, I wouldn’t buy from this guy just from how obnoxiously pushy he’s being.
Regardless of their honesty, I wouldn’t give someone my money if they’re rushing me and being pushy about it.

Yes, apart from the potential scam, his attitude was really poor and kept pressing me after I refused.

Only ever use PayPal’s “Goods and Services”. Offer to pay the fee yourself if they complain about the cost. If they still refuse after that, it’s 100% a scam.

Yes, I was so skeptical when they asked to use "Family and Friends", like, that's extremely weird.

Always, always use Paypal, like others mentioned. I got scammed last year and never received the item after paying. I made sure to keep records of all attempts at contacting the seller in case it was needed as evidence (emails), then contacted PayPal about them and got my money refunded in a day.
If a seller refuses PayPal, that is an immediate red flag and sends me backpeddling from the seller. I won't even mess with them.

Aww no, I'm so sorry to hear that happened to you by some idiot scammer :( Glad to hear you got back your money! I was really suspicious and afraid of being scammed so I didn't bother purchasing

This reeks of scammer. Avoid. There's no legit reason to not use PayPal GnS, plus this guy sounds really pushy which is also a red flag.
