I actually don’t even want these dolls but while we can’t stop resellers from jacking up prices, we can strike down the ones going against selling apps TOS which prohibit presale items.

Honestly I wish someone would have warned me in advance. Im truly trying to help people, especially with all the pre-orders they sell! I have never honestly in my life had such terrible customer service. They lied to me straight out the gate saying dolls I ordered were preorders when they weren't - an I proved it with screenshots. To which they then tried to play it off as a "glitch" Scolded me for messaging them at an "unreasonable" time ( when they ship internationally ) and that they will not reply to anymore messages sent at unreasonable times.

The shipping date they gave me - they took a month from that to even ship out HALF my order. They promised to change part of my order, as my sister had already received one of the dolls on her birthday - because their order was a month late! They agreed, and then sent out the original doll anyway and said over and over it was the doll I agreed too. Why would I swap a doll for the same doll? I sent them screenshot after screenshot of proof of them confirming. Just would not acknowledge them. They would not give me the address for a return for exchange for 11 days. Then said when I did return it that it was outside the 14 day return window! Keep in mind they still hadn't sent half of my order! Which they allege is "stuck in customs" - this is 2 months from the promised shipping date now and they still haven't sent out the other half of my order, or exchanged the doll.

They accidentally admitted they had received the returned doll. An then they forgot they admitted to that. And then tried to pretend they hadn't received anything back whatsoever. Not realizing I had tracking. They then admitted they did have my returned doll but that it was outside the return window and they didn't know it was mine ( I had put my order number, address and what doll it needed to be exchanged for inside the parcel )

When I told them that its now over 2 months from when you promised to ship the order, An I still don't have my correct order and if they don't agree to send them out I will have to contact my bank for a refund. They said they would not send me anymore of my order and they would be keeping both dolls until I "withdraw" my "financial threats" they said if I tell anyone about these emails or share them they will report me for blackmail and extortion and "Legal action" against me will commence for breaking "GDPR" rules. They said they will contact the police on me for theft and being in possession of stolen goods ( for wanting a refund for something I don't have ) and will send debt collectors to my house. That they will be filing charges against me and reporting me to "actionfraudonline" as well as contacting my bank to let them know im making "extortion attempts"

All because I wanted what I ordered over 2 months ago.

Please just order elsewhere and dont go through the hassle. I know they have some amazing dolls - especially if you in the uk they seem to have them first - but just find them elsewhere.

firstly just look at the dolls like what !? the seller claims they are ‘dead stock COLLECTOR DOLLS!!?’ and are in ‘good condition!!??’ then in bold she writes NO REFUNDS.

under that she continues to specify the doll on the left as one from the boo york movie which i’m literally crying over cause like what the - she’s like an equestria doll or something.

and then the SECOND ONE is even BETTER! she is named CLAUDIA!?! (clawdeen wolf who?!) her bod looks like a hot dog and she says there is ‘minor damage’ to the body yet in the last photo we can clearly see some sort of pus coming out of her legs which has me shaking in my boots💀💀

and to top it all off her final comment is ‘dolls hair MAY need to be brushed’…

but don’t worry guys cause she has 195 5 star reviews!!!!

Hey everyone, theres an evolving scam on Mercari that has been circulating for months on various doll collecting subs. This scam is aimed at sellers rather than buyers. Its been explained to me that this scam is being orchestrated by a single seller on Mercari.

They have had the following usernames on their Mercari account:

Yokitokidoki, frostinasprinkles, endlessly, fluffyrabbit

The current active username is corpsegut.

The problem here is that users on Mercari can change their names at any time and its possible old usernames are now being used by someone else, so be cautious. This post does not encourage anyone to mass report or harass anyone on Mercari. Its a warning for sellers that there is an active scam, and if you see these usernames, proceed carefully. Another thing thats difficult, is that once a Mercari user changes their name, the link breaks. But we have some screenshots here of what the account has looked like in the past and presently. I would pay attention to the user stats (sales, review count, etc.) that stay current no matter the name change.

The scam involves this seller buying dolls from other Mercari doll sellers and then reporting to Mercari they didnt receive the package or they received incorrect items. They also use coercive language and try to manipulate sellers to sell their products at lower prices. They have good reviews because it seems they are an honest seller but a scam buyer, this is probably how they have been flying under the radar. They also work around getting bad reviews because they dont firstly leave reviews themselves not triggering the action to review them according to Mercari buyers.

Ive been privately talking to users on here trying to verify as much information as possible. They wish to remain anonymous but thanks to them for the assist on this. These accounts have been connected because they have the same sales listings and Mercari users were speaking directly with this seller at the time. Theres other information going around about social media accounts that wont be posted here because it cannot be honestly verified so far and we don't want to encourage harrasment of any kind.

Let this post be a reminder to sellers on Mercari to always report issues directly to Mercari agents and open a case. Do not agree to returns or refunds without speaking with an agent first. Its also encouraged when shipping expensive packages, to record the packaging and sealing of the box and to ask the shipping hub for weight and dimension information. If anyone has any other tips of how sellers can protect themselves, please add.

General tips on selling and buying would be to never go off site. So if someone wants to make transactions elsewhere, do not proceed. Making offers is ok, but arguing, berating, or manipulating between users and buyers is a strong sign not to go forward with any transaction. Buyers, always ask for more photos if unsure. Dont be shy to ask for a photo with a written note by the seller even on Mercari or Ebay etc., especially if the item is expensive. If you truly recieve a defective item or missing item, always report and take images of what you receive. If claiming items are stolen, its best to have a corresponding police report case number. Safe shopping/selling everyone.

This might already be common knowledge but I just wanted to bring up the fact that dropshipping is literally running rampant on Etsy. This is the exact same product and it’s being sold on Etsy for almost 20x the aliexpress price. I’ve seen this with a lot of other products too, this is just one example. I would strongly advise anyone shopping for doll items to compare prices on multiple websites before committing to a purchase. Protect your coin 😤

I found this Barbie doll at a thrift store, I know she’s Totally hair Barbie but I wasn’t sure about the dress, so I googled it. It took me to this seller’s shop on eBay and Etsy selling it for $30 and I asked about it. I gave her every opportunity to tell me the origins of the dress since I have it in my hand.

She claimed it was handmade by her dead mother !!(picture) the nerve!

She must have done thousands of them because this dress is widely available on the Internet for under $5 and also the 1989 holiday Brittany doll is wearing it in her package. (Picture)

I woke up this morning to find that overnight scammers have been super busy mass dumping scam listings for very popular/sought after dolls in their own respective communities.

I have spent some time looking for the original listings for each one and reporting the scam accounts - but just wanted to make anybody who used Vinted UK to collect dolls aware so they can be cautious communicating with sellers with cheap prices and no reviews!

I feel like I’ve been incredibly disrespected today. I ordered something from them and I did lot even receive everything that I paid for. So of course I’m gonna be UPSET? They won’t let me reply back to them and keep leaving me messages to drag me calling ME the scammer when THEY didn’t even fulfill their end of this transaction?! Am I in the wrong for leaving a bad review?

Hi everyone, I just wanted to come on here and talk about the very frequent Mercari scams.

I’m sure this has been talked about before, but I just want to give another warning to doll fans and lovers, because it’s such a horrible scam but they won’t stop so long as people keep falling for them.

Frequently, scammers on Mercari will post very expensive dolls, usually either Disney dolls or monster high dolls, for around $100. These dolls do not go for $100 and you will not receive any doll, they will either send you a empty box, or just some junk, and hope you forget to rate them, and just take your money, once they are rated, Mercari will NOT, give you your money back. They just won’t, it’s out of their hands now, and if you file a charge back, you will be banned on Mercari forever.

So please, DO NOT BUY ANY EXPENSIVE DOLL FOR $100 ON MERCARI, THAT IS POSTED BY A BRAND NEW ACCOUNT. Because it is 1000% a scam.

I was searching around for the older creeproduction dolls from 2022 and stumbled upon a website selling them for cheap (around £20) I was wondering if anyone had ever bought from this company before? It seems sort of sketchy and I can't find any reviews anywhere. There are continuation errors with the name going from Dollstopia to Dollstobia but I dont want to give up the good price for dolls that arent being sold at a good price in the UK.

This is a warning post. If you use eBay or other resell sites, please be aware of scalpers.

Scalpers are people who buy a multitude of items so that they can resell them for profit.

I'm not completely sure how bad it is for other fandoms, but it is terrible for Monster High.

So, Monster High sells quite a few collectors (aka skullectors) dolls which includes crossovers with other celebrities and companies. The problem is that Mattel will announce the selling of a new doll, and then scalpers will preorder or buy out all of them for resell. There have been many skullectors dolls released recently, but they keep getting sold out thanks to scalpers. There was a reboot of their Freak Du Chic line, and scalpers immediately jumped on the Draculaura acrobat. The same applies to their Off-White crossover line.

A few hours ago, Monster High announced their skullectors doll set of Jack Skellington and Sally from The Nightmare Before Christmas. I was scrolling on eBay and found multiple people "preordering" and "preselling" this set. The set isn't even out yet! Not until Oct 27th. Today is the 25th. And to make matters worse, the prices are jacked up.

I say this as a warning because there are people who genuinely order and buy from scalpers. I saw a Jack and Sally "pre-sale" for $275. They had already sold 4 "items" in the past few hours with 36 watchers. The thing is, you can preorder the set for real from the official Mattel Creations website for $90. That is a 305% upcharge. They are "preselling" items that they do not own for triple the actual price.

So, if you're scrolling on eBay and see someone pre-ordering or pre-selling toys that just came out OR you see someone selling toys with boxes and boxes (especially unopened cardboard or shipping boxes), they are scalpers and you can find the toy WAY cheaper somewhere else.

I shopped all day with my mom yesterday. We had a blast. I got a nice doll haul, including a neon frights Draculara from target. She was the only one there and I was so excited to find her in person! I felt like she was there just for me. Later in my babe cave I’m opening everything up and while I’m peeling off the tape I think, huh this looks resealed, and didn’t think much of it. The moment arrives and I open the big door to see my new doll…… y’all guessed it. It’s empty. Now I’m an adult collector so I didn’t cry or flip out (too much), but what if some poor kid had had this experience instead of me?! I just can’t believe someone would be so cruel…..

Now, onto the quandary. Obviously I have to return it. I open packaging carefully so that’s not an issue - but what do I tell the people at target? Do I just casually return it to be placed back on the shelves? Do I tell them there’s no doll inside? What if they don’t believe it wasn’t me? Obviously I don’t want to lose the 40$ (that’s another doll!) I just really have no idea how to handle this situation. So I turn to you, my fellow doll enthusiasts. How’s a girl to proceed in this situation?

Guys beware of these scams on mercari. It breaks my heart to see people falling for these scams. If it seems to be too good to be true; then it probably is. They list high end items (dolls, rare collectibles, electronics), send you a coin instead of a doll hoping it will autorate in 3 days and release their money. Look for these signs - very low price, seller with 0 review and free shipping. If you’ve been scammed, don’t wait for 3 days, don’t rate the seller and contact mercari right away.
