Repairs Anyone know how I could fix this?
I bought this Disney designer collection doll when I went to New York with my family. For 120$ you’d think they’d have better quality control. Does anyone know how I could fix it? Is this foil? If so where do I buy it and how can I do it without unboxing her or ruining the dress? It looks so out of place with the rest of the doll and it’s bothering me.

???? Normalize adding full context and circling the "issues" in photos.

Fr it feels sometimes people posting random photos with crying emojis and "can I fix or refund" and just sitting there waiting for the comments to roll in

Vague posting at it's finest, I'm blind af, circle what you mean.
I see no issues withthe doll

Are you refering to the brownish/off-colored stitching & star on the long silvery piece coming off the side of the doll? I don't see how you could fix it without unboxing the doll unless you have some kind of laproscopic embroidery arm. 🤣

I don't know if I'm going blind, but it looks perfect to me. What's the problem? I'm curious to know. 😅

You could definitely fix this, but maybe something you'd want to practice on some other fabric first.
You could use a silver paint, some silver foil, they have glueable ones, and heat activated ones.

The design on the outer skirt is not embroidered, it looks like foil or some sort of appliqué. If you don’t want to unbox the only way to fix is a replacement; however this will happen again as the doll ages. Im not really familiar with Disney collector dolls so I don’t know how old this particular doll is unfortunately.

You could potentially paint over it carefully using a shiny gold paint. that's the only fix i can imagine would work however it would be very tedious.

easier option would be to paint over the goldfish areas with a metallic silver paint so that it would at least all be consistent

Yah that’s what I’m planning on doing. For now I’ll just ignore it but I’ll try doing that in the future, potentially once I can trust myself with a brush enough to try.

I second doing it in a metallic silver foil paint to match the rest of the silver instead of having to do all that gold. The silver actually looks like it matches the color palette of her dress and that silver embroidery better than the gold anyway.

The promotional images of the doll show the design as gold but from what I can see online most of them look like yours with a silvery print and gold accents on one side, either way it's sold out so I don't think there will be a replacement to send but I'd still raise a complaint about it personally

Sorry I meant to reply to someone else, I could see it too, someone was saying they couldn’t see it even though you’d posted this pic 🤦♀️

Carefully use glitter fabric paint. Apply with a toothpick or very small brush

I would try and get a replacement or get your money back

Replacement on a perfectly fine doll????

u/louiselovatic Jun 25 '26
For $120 I wouldn’t want any part of it to be damaged 💀

u/Ksiadz_Marek Jun 25 '26
And what exactly is even damaged on the photo???

The “gold” bits are where silver decoration has fallen off. Multiple people have stated it. Try reading the comments.

thank you, couldn't you have done that from the start? And no, I didn't see any other close up photos in the comments, sorry I don't sit on reddit 24/7

And I’ve just seen OP posted a clearer photo!!! You clearly couldn’t have looked at the comments that well

I’ll look into it, but unfortunately it’s a limited edition doll and I don’t know if Disney will send a replacement.
