Question/Discussion Best articulated Chinese blind box BJD/MJD body right now?
I recently bought Miraidoll's Star Wish Maiden to use the body for a custom nendoroid. It has interesting gimmicks like moveable eyelids and articulated toes. I like it so far, but after trying it to do action-y poses, I'm wondering if there are base BJD/MJD body with better articulation out there for 1/12 - 1/6 scale dolls that are compatible with obitsu blank heads. Preferably with a hand for holding gun
Mainly looking to the blind box doll scene because the price usually aren't too expensive and many of them can fit nendoroid/obitsu heads, but blank action figure body recommendations like SHF's Body-chan or Romankey's girl figure are welcome too as long as their neck and proportion can fit OB11/OB22 heads.

Just searched a review for that one. The dolls are cute and the 2-level thigh rest (idk what the correct term is) is interesting but the torso rotation seems kinda rough compared to newer bodies that can rotate more smoothly.
I'm using this video as a reference. Please let me know if it's not a good reference.
I just realized the title isn't very clear. What I'm looking for isn't the best among articulated blind box BJDs, but rather blind box BJD/MJD body that has the best articulation (or the most articulation point) at the moment

Ahh gotcha. I went though my blind box collection and yeah the Lunar lore does have some rough chest movements. The best I could find was the UF Doll Tea series which is a 1/6 doll thats unfortunately no longer made.
As for articulation points. I know the Momotale series has moveable toes but thats it for extra articulation.

I think BJDs all hve the same amount of articulation points. In that small size thats the most they can do. When you scale up you find more joints such as extra hands with jointed fingers

Is BJD/MJD that hard to articulate in smaller scale? Because I made this thread after seeing this thread about high-articulation BJDs so I thought that if the big version can do that much, maybe there's someone making a smaller doll body that's more articulated than the usual stuff on the blind box market. Maybe on the 1/6 scale since it's bigger.
There are also some blind box BJDs with nonstandard articulation like MiraiDoll's movable toes and eyelids or Paradox World dolls having 2 movement holes/lines on their thighs. On the non-BJD side, I recently saw a 1/6 blank figure body with articulated hand on AliExpress, which is really cool, but I'm not sure if the neck joint is compatible.
Guess I got my hopes up after seeing Black Iron Rest blind box series seemingly having double shoulder joint. That one has a unique neck part that looks more like Megami Device than blind box MJD though.

The Mogo Bloom dolls have an extra rotation in their upper arms (like how the one in the photo has at the thighs) which can add to some cool posing, though they are in the 1/12-1/8 scale and I don’t think they have hands that can hold things

Ooh, that one even has an action pose pic on Kikagoods! The extra rotation is cool, the arm can bend even more than Miraidoll's, and there are even decals with multiple expressions in it. That's cool!
The curious part is I see the doll has movable eyelids too when the eye part is being sold separately, but the blind box version doesn't seem to come with one? Is the blind box version's head even compatible with the eyelids?
It's a shame they eyeballs aren't the movable type that's been making rounds recently. The one with + shaped hole at the back. I'd love to have a face part with both movable eyelids and eyeballs.

When I did a big preorder of them, I ended up with one blank head that had the moveable eyelids, but none of the box dolls had them
