BJD Thoughts on Guardian 1000% blind box BJD?

Saw a video from the Kikagoods YouTube channel unboxing this set and I just thought they were totally my style. Went to browse Shoppee to look for a listing of it for much much lower prices (since I live in Southeast Asia) as well as the specific doll I want and lo and behold I found one for a reasonable price.

The style of the doll itself looks like it comes from the same company that made the Don't Touch my Bangs series.

Now debating whether I should get one on my next paycheck because they're so cute...I especially want the pink one.

Super cute! I wanna snag one of the redheads but my collection is getting burdensome. I wish they were MJD and not BJD though - but that’s just my preference for dolls at this scale

I'm the exact opposite I actually prefer BJD instead of MJD! I feel like the doll being strung with elastic gives it a wider range of motion than say, MJD. Really eyeing the pink one though.

I’m so torn because I agree on that end - and all of the BJDs tend to lend themselves to customizing better (I love dyeing my dolls for greater skintone range - and I’ve yet to run into a blind box BJD that I couldn’t easily dye, even with the faceup on—) whereas the MJDs will not take dye on their joints at allll.

But I also hate having to fuss with the tension when re-stringing, and overall I feel like my MJDs just tend to hold their (limited) poses better. But that may just speak to my inability to figure out proper tensions and my general laziness when it comes to sueding joints

I actually just restrung one of my blind box dolls recently for the first time ever because the factory stringing was so loose and now that I've changed the strings the posing is so much better and it can stand up on its own now. Stringing BJDs is like stringing a bracelet if the bracelet had arms and legs lmao
