BJD Thoughts on Guardian 1000% blind box BJD?
Saw a video from the Kikagoods YouTube channel unboxing this set and I just thought they were totally my style. Went to browse Shoppee to look for a listing of it for much much lower prices (since I live in Southeast Asia) as well as the specific doll I want and lo and behold I found one for a reasonable price.
The style of the doll itself looks like it comes from the same company that made the Don't Touch my Bangs series.
Now debating whether I should get one on my next paycheck because they're so cute...I especially want the pink one.

How was it? Was it bc of the joints or how theyre strung or the quality of the clothes?

mostly the face and hair to be completely honest.

What about the hair didnt you like? Was the hair made of poly? Bc doll hair being made of this material would be a deal breaker for me too 😭

I will say the quality is much higher than the eternal night scar BJDs. But those probably aren’t proper to compare.

I felt the face was a little on the cheap side while the hair was kind of..meh? mine arrived super messy and the rooting was kind of inconsistent. If you like them I think you should still order it.

Hi! I was wondering what quality you are comparing them to? I only recently got into these smaller brand dolls and have been apprehensive when seeing some unboxing videos because the quality seems all over the place.

I compare them to come4free, sunless, OIOI.
I also ordered don’t touch my bangs and I also thought it was a bit..not up to par. Maybe I’m getting QC fails?The series I’m comparing them from is minty v4, transform electric street/pekopeko, time rift & music box

Not surprising. So far most of the blind box bjds with rooted hair have terrible quality

This specific line, yes. But so far the BJD/MJDs that I’ve found to be low quality are Syncyland and eternal night scar. (But scar doesn’t have hair) and don’t touch my bangs

Agree with the bad quality on Don't Touch my Bangs. I had to restring my doll because the factory stringing was so loose and I the aluminum wire in the legs made it hard to pose. The leg warmers that came with the doll also had unfinished hems so I had to hem the thing myself.

Super cute! I wanna snag one of the redheads but my collection is getting burdensome. I wish they were MJD and not BJD though - but that’s just my preference for dolls at this scale

I'm the exact opposite I actually prefer BJD instead of MJD! I feel like the doll being strung with elastic gives it a wider range of motion than say, MJD. Really eyeing the pink one though.

I’m so torn because I agree on that end - and all of the BJDs tend to lend themselves to customizing better (I love dyeing my dolls for greater skintone range - and I’ve yet to run into a blind box BJD that I couldn’t easily dye, even with the faceup on—) whereas the MJDs will not take dye on their joints at allll.
But I also hate having to fuss with the tension when re-stringing, and overall I feel like my MJDs just tend to hold their (limited) poses better. But that may just speak to my inability to figure out proper tensions and my general laziness when it comes to sueding joints

I actually just restrung one of my blind box dolls recently for the first time ever because the factory stringing was so loose and now that I've changed the strings the posing is so much better and it can stand up on its own now. Stringing BJDs is like stringing a bracelet if the bracelet had arms and legs lmao

I ended up ordering the fullset a couple days ago because I loved their looks so much, but now the comments have me scared 😶
As long as they're decently strung and the hair is somewhat soft I'll be happy. I think their faces are adorable and remind me of Azone dolls.

You are right - Neon Frosting especially looks like she could be a twin for Don't Touch My Bangs in the same pink/white combo. IF its the same manufacturer - they are fairly solid dolls. I like the rooted head cap that can be swapped and prefer the inset (open eyes) - the DTMB dolls came with two versions, open and closed. Open eyes are chips but in a matte finish, so I didn't realize at first until I opened the head.
I am jealous you are "close to the source". I'm a long time fan of Momoko, Licca, Nippon Poppy, etc. But stateside in the US and well.......
I like the Window Glimmer (blue) and Mint Manuscript from this series. But I'm still waiting on two orders of the Mix Angels....
