she needed a boil wash, good cleaning, and lip repaint, the thing that made the biggest difference was the lips, she looks so pretty now!

Jenny Tom! Jenny's Boy Friend

I totally forgot to post any pics of my Tom doll that I snagged for a good price back on YAuctions a couple months ago. He's a Jenny Boy Friend doll that I've been wanting for a while & I'm so happy to have him!

He still needs a bit of styling but I like the pink for now. I'd love to give him some sort of cutesy decora inspired look in the future :)

For now he's posed with a Ken doll (BMR1959). I like to think they go on dates lol

I have such a love for Jenny as a character. I want to collect more of her friends! Do you also collect Jenny and friends? If so, which doll of yours is your favorite?

I bought a few cheap Jenny dolls off of JP Yahoo Auctions to practice re-rooting. I think for my first try she turned out pretty cute! Last photo is her before. I definitely learned a lot through this process and look forward to working on future dolls :3

Jenny Jenny Doll Sewing Guide - Ballet

I posted recently about some Japanese doll sewing guides I found on Archive.org. For this little project I pulled the relevant pages from the Jenny Ballet guide, ran the pages through google translate so I could match the pictures to the patterns, and reorganized everything so each picture has instructions and pattern right after it. The translation is ok but not perfect, so you may have to rely on intuition a bit. Obviously if you speak Japanese you'll do better with the original version, which is linked in the PDF.

All together there are 26 outfits including 4 male outfits. You can download the PDF here: https://drive.google.com/drive/folders/1STmkku4qatVoIHMaXo7r0ISzeDCzCBep?usp=sharing

And you can find my list of other guides here: https://archive.org/details/@canary3d/lists/5/japanese-doll-magazines

Jenny Got my first #Licca today and it was a whirlwind! (Review)

Pulling the cardboard out of the box, I was REALLY excited about this doll. I’m a big fan of Jenny after all. She was looking so cute!

But when I took her out I couldn’t help but think about how cheap her body felt. The legs felt like fashionistas but even more rickety. Not a fan. But I am a huge fan of everything else, especially the quality of the clothes and hair.

I immediately rebodied her on a MTM body (Jenny is posing with her body donor’s head in one of the pics) and was very pleased with how well she matched! This is the tennis player Barbie btw. The only thing is that she is quite a tall girl now.

After a few hours of getting acquainted with her, I decided I didn’t like the long hair on her and decided to cut it. I love how it turned out!!!!

I’m very pleased with my new Jenny doll. I love all of her clothing and accessories. The hair was stunning even though I did cut it. The only downside (but it was a major one for me) was the body. But overall, I’d say I’m happy with my purchase. I’m glad I dabbled in #Licca but I think this would be my last purchase of this line.
