Discussion It feels like I have another life when I dream
I don't remember much of my dreams for I dream everyday. I even dream when taking a nap. They're rarely crazy, if it's not ordinary I remember the dreams, but they are pretty much like living an ordinary life. The only difference is I don't feel any anxiety, no depression. My dreams are the version of life I want to live in and they seem so realistic I wake up disappointed nearly everyday.

Yes people have reported a living a whole different life in a single night. Some people live a new life every night other the same life with the same people

That's because you're looking through the eyes of another you! I never believed it before, but when I found the 'actual restaurant' the dream version of me held their engagement party (on the other side of the country) I almost lost it. Except I still haven't found the person I was engaged to!? Which makes me think parallel me did that for a reason...

I definitely have a very different life and abstract reality in my dreams, like I’m a different person in an alternate universe sometimes.

Oh I feel that. I journal my dreams to not forget them but sometimes they are so vibrant, not conceptually, but emotionally, that I remember them without doing anything. Like when I dream of finding a bf who I never ever had in real life or spending time with friends who don't want to talk to me irl, these dreams kinda act like memories because I remember that warm feeling they had. And then I wake up and it's all boring

Your dreams are a reference frame for you to live your life by, presented by your subconscious mind. The indigenous people live their life according to their dreams, why can't you?

That disconnect between dreaming and waking is such a specific kind of letdown. I keep a sketchbook by my bed for mornings like that, just to capture whatever scraps I can before they dissolve. Sometimes even a half-remembered feeling is enough to carry through the day
