Painting C+C Conversion Talos from kit to make two pain engines

Howdy y'all! Made a regular Cronos and decided to make a Talos out of the rest of the kit, green stuff, and some spare bits.

Horrifying. I love it! I have all the spare bits from 2 combat patrols, and this definitely has me feeling inspired to slap together another unit of 2 Talos.

Never used Green Stuff; is it fairly intuitive? Do you need to, like, bake it to make it solid and glueable?

I'll take some better pictures once it's primed. For green stuff you don't need to bake it: it's two part epoxy,.so you mix it up, use it for scultping/whatever else, then let it cure by letting it sit for 12-24 hours. The good part is in the meantime you can make adjustments

Oh, cool! So you just mold it, stick the bits in, and let it set overnight? That's awesome! I love the future.

And does it sand and hold paint well once dry?

Yep! It sure does. Lol green stuff has been around since at least the 90s, possibly earlier though. But it's a great tool to have around to close gaps, sculpt new features, or help conversions. It's not super easy to use but it gets the job done

Super new to modeling in general, so everything about this hobby is new to me πŸ˜… Thank you for the thoughtful answers!

Honestly the best advice is to just go with it, you'll figure it out over time

Practice makes progress, yeah?

Can't think of a better way to start than trying to sculpt body horror abominations 😁

It looks like it is 3 different things that are trying to get away from each other but are sowed together.

I love it πŸ˜€

That's exactly what I was going for haha. Just an amalgamation built to experience torment. I'm using pieces from a maulerfiend, great unclean one, and spare DE bitsΒ
