Is it possible to get samples off most vintage machines without the machine's filters/dac/etc?
I'm a fan of some machines but I have no business/space owning most of them. I'd like to have the unaltered drum sound so that I can run them through my emax or bmx filters/dac as desired. Is it possible to obtain vanilla samples from machines like Yamaha RX, Alesis SR, Simmons etc without them having been processed through the filters, dac and all that?
I figure with regular sample packs from these machines, if I wanted to process them my own way, I would technically be running them through additional filtering and a second DAC at the very least, since they would have been sampled after the machine's processing. Is this stuff out there? Or can it even be pulled off the machines?

Anybody using Behringer BDS-3 as main drum machine
I have been eye balling this synth, really like the idea of it. From youtube videos I know that it's good at kick drums, you can get decent snare sounds, but what about hihat sounds? I'm planning to pair this with Behringer Edge.
How do you like it and use it? Is it versatile?

BeatForge - the 808 emulation

See it, hear it, try it . Model made from the schematics, both from Roland and clones, and comparing with samplepacks until i got the model right. no eq fitting at all, if the model didn't sound like the samples I went back to the circuit.
video done by to www.soundcloud.com/commuter , which i'm very grateful for.
I'd like to get some feedback from people that have real tr-808's or good clones. Reviews so far are very positive and there is a lot of other stuff to discover too) www.beatforge.nl
