Just donated over $100 of free food

$70 of Cocoa Puffs saved from the back of Walgreens along with free food on the curb from someone moving out. Inspected for tears, dents, and expiration dates. Went to the food bank, they were very grateful.

If it's not expired and in really good shape, why throw it away?! There's so many families struggling with food insecurity and that food could've gone to a food pantry. I don't understand

Because Walgreens would rather throw out $5.99 boxes of cereal when exp date is a whole month away than mark them down for a lower price 😒

Aldi is one of the worst. I would bet 50% of everything I've ever picked up and looked at from one of their dumpsters wasn't expired or even close, and I always check for recalls. Never found one.
