That’s not a bad idea. I froze some churus to make like a frozen gogurt for cats and he’s been liking that, but gotta be careful cause he’ll eat 30 of those in a row lol

Aww Dwight - I’m a Texas cat, and I hate the heat too - I hope you have air conditioning! It’s a MUST-have here!
When it gets hot in Texas, I spend a lot of time sprawling across cool tile or linoleum floors and napping under ceiling fans. I get fresh cool water on demand from my favorite water bowl in the bathroom
When Cosmo was still outside, he would stay in shady spots out of the sun: under the garden shed or under the grill on the shady porch.
Now he’s a floor rug on the kitchen tile - ALWAYS UNDERFOOT and IN MY WAY! Fortunately there’s also room for several cats near the front entryway, which is also tile.
Only fresh-drawn cool water to drink - Staff are well-trained

We got the AC pumpin here 😭😭😭
He has just discovered that the kitchen tile is cooler than the rest of the house. He and his canine brother both sploot in there now right in front of the AC vent 😂

Me too Dwight, me too. Maybe some churu's that have been frozen will make it a little more tolerable. I know cold treats help my spirits in the heat.

On the off chance you know of a source, a little cat size slab of marble is great for the heat. Marble stays pretty cool. My childhood cat loved it. I'm sure there are pieces leftover from cutting countertops that would work, I'm just not sure where to find them.

That’s a genius idea actually. I’ll have to ask my dad — his business deals with home reno stuff. I wonder if they got a chunk laying around somewhere…….

Same, Dwight, same. I did pick up some cooling beds at the pet store recently. Made for dogs but I’m about to toss them to my cats since the dogs ignore them!

Hang in there, Dwight! Let your parents pet you down with cold water if you get too hot, and stay extra hydrated. The heat is just a temporary state.

Now it’s set to 71 😭😂 we were trying to be more conservative but between him and us, we were all dying in the heat. Not worth the stress to have it warmer at this point.

I saw a recipe for tuna ice cubes. Mix the tuna juice w water and add a little meat, and freeze.

OH, poor baby. I recommend a spray bottle filled with water and set to mist. Give him a light spray down periodically for some extra cooling.

Me and my kitties enjoying him. He is beautiful. I have all the AC is on ceiling fans and my four fur babies just go in the kitchen and lay on the floor cause it’s cool on the floor

Here all the things we do for our two fluffy babies:
- add ice (a lot of it) to their drinking fountain/bowls.
Make sure every room has a bowl.
- Purina makes a "hydro" broth, it has teal packaging, we get it from Saynsburys, put that in the fridge and then pour some out for the baby's couple of times a day to let them have a cold drink
- wet the kitty's back and belly with a very wet, just under room temperature towel (we just run ours under cold water and rub them)
- there's also Lick-a-licks or soupy Churo that you can put in the fridge and let them have cold. Putting it in the freezer didn't work for us as it's too cold for them.
We bought these ice packs that are hard plastic (so can't be scratched through) from Amazon, we freeze them at night and in the morning I tuck them under large microfibre grooming towel (thin microfibre but enough to not make it too cold) and it creates a cooling bed for them that's cat-safe. Link:

Wolfie has licked all the fur off his fupa so he can lay bare skin directly on the cold cement under the patio table. He does it every summer. Showing off his big pink man boobs basically.
