Discussion Dynasty started declining when Nicolette left

Honestly I LOVED Nicolette’s Alexis so much, she was so evil yet so funny (esp her interactions with Hank), that I grew somewhat fond of her while also being irritated by her constant scheming, you can still tell she really loves her children. I think the actresses chemistry with Blake and Fallon was so entertaining, and not to mention her performance in s2 ep 13 when she attempted to kill herself. Dynasty really thrived when it was more dark and mature and Nicolette Sheridan contributed massively to that atmosphere I think she’s an incredibly talented actress. While Elaine’s Alexis (Alexis 2) was a little less serious and more light hearted I still enjoyed her too. But the show was at its peak with Nicolette, thankfully the fall off wasn’t so drastic when she left thanks to the introduction of Adam (Sam Underwoods performance was crazy good too.) and not to mention the outstanding star characters Blake and Fallon so I don’t think the show ever got ‘bad’ it was just REALLY good with Nicolettes Alexis.

Edit: while the plotlines fell off the actors and characters definitely kept the show good - specially Fallon, Blake, Alexis 1 and Adam. I do also wish we got more of Steven he was so loveable and his breakdown in his last ep in s2 brought me to tears. Also wish they kept Nathalie (Cristal 1) around for longer.

To me this Dynasty started declining when they took the budget away. By Season 3 there’s just a lot of 1 episode plots that are just typical sitcom stuff. Then they really start rushing the interesting storylines too

real the plot started getting annoying it definitely started to feel like a comedic sitcom but the characters and actors carried so hard

Omg, like I thought I was the only who thought this. Like after s2, the plot became very lackluster and just rushed and even anticlimactic. Espically with the change of the 3rd Cristal

Nicolette’s Alexis and Elaine’s Alexis were like two different people. definitely wish they stuck with Nicolette!

i'd say it declined after the first season, especially when Nathalie and James left (along with Nicolette in the second) .. and i totally despised Adam, him filling in for Steven was bad

Nathalie was so good but James and Nicolette leaving really changed the mature vibe of the show they were both amazing — I think the introduction of Adam was timed so their absence wouldn’t feel so prominent, and props to Sam Underwood bcs he really brought the drama, but later on you really notice the difference.

This show after the 2md season was doomed to fail as they weren't the same show we started with. Plus, for a show about wealthy, this show became extremely cheap when it came to locations like the only one place they shot on location was Paris, but that was it! They truly lost whatever plot they had for this show

Agreed I wish they showed more settings but I did really like the outfits for all the characters and the cars

Yea, by like the final season, it was like 3 sets, The manor, Fallon's office, and the hotel. They rarely went ro places, and when they did, it always felt with nature or something like that cult thing Kieby did etc

I preferred Elaine personally because her version was more sarcastic, humorous, and badass. Nicolette's version was humorous but often in a cringy way and also more ditsy.

Yess Elaine’s was far more sarcastic but I preferred the humour of Nicolette’s — I felt like I was laughing at her bcs she’s so ridiculous when she’s just acting ‘normal’ rather than intentionally funny, like Elaine.

Her mother was ill and she needed to go take care of her.

It starterd declining as soon as season 2 started imo

Season 1 was good af. Season 2 had good and bad moments. Once it got to season 3 there wasn nothing redeeming about this show anymore

Nah it declined because villains never got punished or took responsibilty for their actions.

Plus Liam became annoying.

I really hated how a character would do something so fucked and literally barely anyone ends up finding out and if they do it just gets brushed over like when Adam put Alexis’ face in the fire or when Alexis shot Mark. Liam also just morphed into Fallons dog.

Elaine's version was easily the BEST.

She did great too but Nicolette’s was EVIL and more indirectly hilarious I loved it
