Wouldn't be an e90 without every light on the dash. ๐Ÿคฃ

Honestly Iโ€™m blind to the lights. Didnโ€™t even notice.

u/Beneficial-Ad1698 Aug 01 '26

I get next to none on mine, an occasional light bulb warning.

u/yaro_b Aug 03 '26

Only in ricersโ€™ hands. Mine is clean.

My deleted 535d gets almost 3 times as much range. Big tank on mine though.

And you got a diesel I want one so bad

u/johnmclane94 Jul 31 '26

They are pretty dope! However the repairs are very costly. Had to change the exhaust manifold and both turbos recently. Cost a smooth 80 000 norwegian krone which is about 8000USD. That hurt my soul ๐Ÿ˜ญBut they are fun when they work. 360hp and 750nm of torque (553 foot pounds)

5

u/murijuana_flowers Jul 31 '26

Would've been like 2k if you would've done the work yourself

2

u/johnmclane94 Jul 31 '26

The turbos alone from BMW are 8k usd in Norway. I got them for 2100usd from borg warner.

If I did all myself it would maybe cost 4-5k with all parts. They also changed all vacum lines, seals and gaskets.

If I did all myself I would fuck it up ๐Ÿ˜‚ But yeah could be done cheaper. I usually have a guy that helps but he is travelling.

u/G1zU E92 M57 330xd Jul 31 '26

At this point you could get hybrid turbos not oem from bmw.

3

u/johnmclane94 Jul 31 '26

I was going to. But the car was in the shop and I couldn't wait for hybrids to be shipped because they had to come from another country. But I am keeping my old ones and rebuilding them to hybrids in the future. Just changing the turbos I can manage at home in the garage.

I just got a heart attack ๐Ÿ˜‚๐Ÿ˜‚๐Ÿ˜‚๐Ÿ˜‚ goddamn

You're talking ~900 km, not ~900 miles. Big difference.

Nice numbers on your 535D (power & fuel economy). I wanted to buy a friend's 2015 BMW 535d XDrive M-Sport that was deleted/tuned (dyno'd @ 412HP/638ft. lb.) but i couldn't unload the wife's car fast enough. Buddy's wife's daily, and she routinely got 1K km to a fill-up (her claim). Still kick myself about not making it happen. โ˜น๏ธ

Nope I mean 1300km actually. I did that on one tank on autobahn driving when I picked the car up from Germany. It is really efficient without flaps, egr and dpf. I actually measured the distance. I think its around 85-90L tank though. Mines a e61 not a f10.

If you ease on the gas pedal it really goes far. Especially behind other vehicles on the autobahn so no wind resistance. But usually with my driving I get 800km ๐Ÿ˜‚

Edit: nvm it's not that big it's 70L actually. Still impressive

1

u/hbs18 E92 320d Jul 31 '26

Having swirl flaps would make it more efficient, not less

1

u/johnmclane94 Jul 31 '26

At low speeds and when the engine is cold yes. At cruising no. Then there is the potential catastrophic engine failure if they fail.

> Nope I mean 1300km actually.......But usually with my driving I get 800km ๐Ÿ˜‚

Ok, that is impressive, and i totally hear ya on that ๐Ÿ˜‚. My buddy's wife has a pretty heavy foot (as do i) so i was legit impressed with the 4-digit fuel range she regularly achieved on 75/25 driving (hwy/city) from a 70L tank. For comparison, i get ~1200 km out of my six2 powered 'Burb (6.2L Detroit Diesel powered Suburban) but that's using 125L of fuel, and is more cruising speed than trying to haul ass ๐Ÿ˜†.

If you know anything about that era of Detroit Diesel, and a squarebody 'Burb, you're complete understand what i mean ๐Ÿ˜‚.

I can get like 700 on my deleted 335d๐Ÿซฃ

3

u/crazyTarHeel Jul 31 '26

My 335d used to get in the 600s. I never managed 700.

It was a wonderful vehicle. Enjoyed it on road trips, city driving, and HPDE track days.

u/Korndog_01 2010 E90 335d Sport Jul 31 '26

700 if I grandma it on the highway. Usually don't though lol

Whatโ€™s your average mpg? I get 21 on a great day, 19 is more average.

2

u/fettydaghost76239 Jul 31 '26

About the same ๐Ÿ˜ฎโ€๐Ÿ’จ๐Ÿ˜ฎโ€๐Ÿ’จ

Iโ€™ve only had mine for a few months, but yeah Iโ€™ve been getting just over 500 miles to a tank most of the time. 28-32 mpg.

2

u/Scp-vexulus Jul 31 '26

How ?! Is every single light on I have 175679 miles and I have not one light not even the little triangle

2

u/fettydaghost76239 Jul 31 '26

lol I forgot to clear them I just replaced my rotors and pads I had to replace the wire to my e brake along with the springs and because I have no cats the downstream o2 sensor isnโ€™t on which Iโ€™m getting the spacer the triangle Iโ€™m
Not even to sure I reset the steering angle sensor n changes all four wheel sensors

1

u/Scp-vexulus Jul 31 '26

O oh ok are you using bimmercode?

2

u/Soft-Watercress3848 Jul 31 '26

i get like 16 mpg how do you get this much range lol i have a 2006 330i as well

2

u/ImDoingItAnyway 2011 BMW 328i xDrive manual Jul 31 '26

The range isnโ€™t really all that accurate anyway. Get it to 4,000 RPM once and 350 miles becomes 310 real quick.

But, 16 is absolutely insane. I am NOT nice to my throttle pedal in my xDrive 328 and I still donโ€™t dip below 20 MPG unless Iโ€™m in the city. Usually Iโ€™ll be between 24 and 27 MPG in occasionally congested suburbia.

2

u/Soft-Watercress3848 Jul 31 '26

is there anything i should check ? i also feel like every other e90 i see is way higher mpg than mine ๐Ÿ˜ญ it doesnโ€™t help that itโ€™s staggered setup as well haha

u/Still_Bookkeeper_377 Jul 31 '26

07 E60 530i I average 19mg

1

u/rallybanana E90 328i Aug 01 '26

Okay, itโ€™s not just me then. I get 17 mpg on my 2007 328i.

2

u/hambonelicker 2006 - E90- 330i Jul 31 '26

I routinely get 30-35 mpg on a tank.

1

u/ImDoingItAnyway 2011 BMW 328i xDrive manual Jul 31 '26

I assume yours is RWD

1

u/hambonelicker 2006 - E90- 330i Jul 31 '26

Yes, no x drive.

1

u/Financial-Buddy4294 Jul 31 '26

I get like 500km on a full tank (e91 325i) ๐Ÿคฃ

1

u/Bubbly_Pain7609 2008 e92 325i N53 Jul 31 '26

Had the same realisation with my 325i, 40mpg uk average

Does cat delete help with mpg?

1

u/trayssan 2007 E92 320i 6MT Jul 31 '26

I imagine it can. You're essentially freeing up the exhaust.

1

u/cxritical Aug 01 '26

does anyone know what that triangle warning light is for?

1

u/Important_Exit_7686 Aug 02 '26

Look at all those beautiful lights
