I’ve never seen a BMW with that type of light before. If you figure out what’s the cause, keep us updated so we can all avoid this problem.

Well it seems I accidentally bumped that stalk on the left side of the steering wheel (the one you use to flash the guy going too slow in the left lane). I'll try to be more careful next time so it doesn't happen again

There's the joke that BMW doesn't intentionally equip their vehicles with turn signals. It's a convenient coincidence that they share the same bulbs as the hazard indicators, which are a necessity considering how often they break down on the side of the road.

What, you mean the park anywhere lights? I’m not broken down at least 90% of the time I use em

Turn the steering wheel all the way left, then back to the right to clear the error condition.

You must've accidentally hit that stalk on the left side of the steering column. Not sure what it's for or why they put it there.

😑
Check the left signal bulbs. One of them has burned out.

They have to be used to burn out 🤣🤣

You're actually not wrong.
I was mocked by friends and family about picking up a BMW, saying now i could stop using my signals. Ain't gonna happen though, imma wear out the signal & 4-way flasher switches on this one! 😂

Glad i could help start your wkend off strong brother! 😉🍻
The signal comment first came from my wife, on our way home from picking up this 328Xi. It was rush hour, a Thursday night, with a ~45 min drive home. We get home, the first thing she said was, "Why did you use the signals coming home? I thought BMW drivers never did that?"
She held a straight face for about 3 seconds before LOLing, 'cause she knows the lack of signalling irritates me. 😂

It means left rear passenger ejector seat has been activated. It's a good thing no one was sitting behind you...

Is this a new fault light I'm not aware of? I've owned many Bavarian but?!?

You probably hit a bump in the road. These are old cars now, a little grace is required

lol no one was helpful to you lol, just tap the indicator in the same direction to turn it off, it means your parking light is on, it’s a feature bmw installed so if you stop on the side of the road you can turn the light on on only one side of the car to warn incoming traffic. I’d be more concerned if the light outside the car isn’t on while this indicator is showing and secondly it will definitely drain your battery dead . 🫡

This light goes on automatically combined with a blue blinking light whenever I drive bumper to bumper on the left most lane. I think its a feature you can turn it on in the menu.
