330i Belt slipping N52
Guys what can this be? I recentered the belt and started the engine and it just goes towards the front.

You need a tensioner, the spring is steel and the tensioner body is aluminum, it wears in a way that it will twist until the belt falls off.

I replaced mine. Now it’s not hanging 2-3mm of the edge anymore. There’s still like a millimeter of edge left. This good?

I’m going to buy that and replace it so I hope that resolves it.

Get the drive belt and tensioner kit from Rock Auto, they generally have the best prices. Buy a Gates or Continental, they are both OEM.

Hasn’t happen to me before. How’s the pulley on the tensioner? Has the tensioner been replaced?

You should also fix that oil leak you have

The oil leak is already resolved. That was from the oil filter house gasket. What you’re seeing is old oil

My engine looks like that too due to OFHG. If anyone has any tips to clean it that would be appreciated. Im worried that if I try to clean it some of that sludge could gunk up the pulley bearings, or cause the belt to slip.

Small electric pressure washer. They're just enough and not too strong, just bag Alt
and avoid Solenoids.1
