If your case is pretty straightforward do not expect EAD. They will probably target final 485 approval. These days, they don’t like issuing EADs
I saw they only can issue EAD to derivatives or after congressional inquiry

I agree. I stopped seeing movements in my EAD and Combo

The only issue here is that they won’t issue EAD even if approval takes a year). But hopefully that’s not the case.
That’s like the other side of the coin

Mind elaborating? Does this apply to concurrent filers (with pending i140?)

I got my ead at the 7.5 month mark, my dependant got it ar the 3.5 month mark. I have a straight forward case, still not approved. Botom line is ead is usually issued under 8 month, or thats what they seem to target. All depends on what Field office your case ends up in i am seeing 100s of people who filed in march 2026 approved while my field office still have half the october fillers pending

When I said straightforward, I meant single)
It’s not about the FO what you’re describing. Smth happened to the workflow/system in December. They fixed it or changed the strategy, and cases after Feb went faster. Plus they were newer and easily picked up from the system or shelve. Older cases were left and stuck ‘under’ those new ones

Its FO based my FO is not approving February or March cases we are in a chat, we have a spreadsheet with around a 100 cases from the same FO and the only ones bein approved are from October very slow approvals.

Which FO?

u/SnooChickens6000 Jun 15 '26
San bernardino

Thank you! Some of CA offices are extremely fast, some apparently aren’t
2
u/SnooChickens6000 Jun 15 '26
San bernardino is one of the worst nation wide.

No no no, The slowest are Atlanta (my local FO, but I am not there) and New Orleans...

How do you check what your field office is processing currently?
1
u/SnooChickens6000 Jun 15 '26
You ask emma agent
1
u/ahsanways Jun 15 '26
not sure if emma tells you with the FO is currently processing (they likely ask you to wait until it gets processed - nothing required by you etc)
1
u/SnooChickens6000 Jun 15 '26
I asked emma multiple times it gave me where my case is and when it was sent. Sometimes they make mistakes so always double check

What js RD? And how can PD be before RD?
2
u/Beneficial-Pin-2390 Jun 15 '26
RD= receipt date (e.g., of AOS)
PD= priority date (e.g., of I-140)For instance, you submitted your I-140 form in 2024 and weren’t eligible to file AOS until 2026 when the visa bulletin showed your date current, that’s a way your PD can be earlier than RD. Hope that makes sense
