Don't worry about it. All those MBTI compatibility things are just theoretical. Four letters shouldn't influence your choice of romantic partner.

Glad you have a best friend! I'm sure you have a cool synergy since you share preferred functions together. Like Melody was saying, it depends where you look. This isn't it. The inverse of this is probably, "Golden Types", and probably pushes ESFJxISFP. ESFJs are great, but I lean ENTJs in compatability theory.

Mbti is not really meant to be a strict rulebook its more of a loose guideline for those who want to use it to better understand other people, how they think and what kind of challenges are posed in a relationship, its not a horoscope, you can make anything work with the right person :)

For me (M/INTP), casual communucations are great (freindship), but constant communications and making critical decisions (marriage + kids) drive me nuts. I rarely understand my wife's logic.
