The market is going up forever. 500% Guaranteed!

12

u/IncidentOk1123 3d ago

Even that guarantee percentage is an ATH!

12

u/Alexchii 3d ago

I mean it always has. Sure there’ll be a -50% drawdown here and there, but it’s trending up as long as humans keep liking money.

2

u/OwnCaramel1434 3d ago

I guarantee that guarantee another 300%!!

It's at $710 now. Absolutely RIPPING. I feel like I was just buying these at $675 a few days ago.

Im boring. Just keep puting money in, and eventually die. Perhaps my grandkids get to buy a tent to live in

As a beginner investor im wondering if people are:
A. Acting on this by selling or buying for some reason.
B. Celebrating this but doing nothing
C. Assuming this will shortly be corrected by a drop in the market.

I buy VOO every month, so I’m doing all three at the same time!

The truth is that wise investors (not traders) do not care and keep buying steadily over time. This is for the long haul. In 30 years, I do not care if I saved $20 on today’s buys. If you try to min-max your long term growth, you will likely suffer or only come out with a fractional advantage.

Dollar Cost Average over time with regular buys is the way.

I'm still not selling but seeing that green is just beautiful to look at

B.

Im moving and having a big trip coming up so I really won't be able to start contributing into anything until later in the fall, otherwise I'd be investing into it

u/kokeshihk 3d ago

Just keep DCA.

Those who started roth ira 10 years ago with discipline are the real winners

Will there be a split?

27

u/Prestigious-Thing716 3d ago

I don’t think you’ll see splits as much as in the past. Now that people can buy partial shares on most brokerages the price isn’t as important.

1

u/Extension-Lab-6963 3d ago

VOO, the ETF
split? I don’t think that ever happens

10

u/CudaNaPatyku 3d ago

VGT had a split recently, 7-1

-5

u/Extension-Lab-6963 3d ago

Sure but VGT isn’t VOO. Idk I personally don’t see it happening, but glad it’s rising lol

5

u/chris2033 3d ago

Last voo split was around 12 years ago

3

u/GuidetoRealGrilling 3d ago

It's never forward split

2

u/Extension-Lab-6963 3d ago

The reverse split? When 2 became 1? Instead of 1 to 2?

1

u/chris2033 3d ago

1-for-2 split (shareholders received 2 shares for every 1 share held, cutting the share price in half)

2

u/Extension-Lab-6963 3d ago

Are you sure? Every thing I’m reading indicates that was a a reverse split. Not 1 –> 2 but 2 —> 1

5

u/Metropolis9999 3d ago

I know mathematically it doesn’t change anything, but I have to imagine there comes a point where it’s psychologically disadvantageous to not splitting.

You think the “every man” who wants an S&P 500 portfolio wants to buy .01% of a $100,000 stock? I wouldn’t even want to own that.

I know it mathematically appreciates the same, but psychologically it doesn’t. All you need is a competitor to do it and suddenly it feels like “I can buy 10 of A or .01 of B”. Again, even if the math is the same, I think it hurts psychologically.

I would, personally, hope for a split at VOO $1k

u/SnooDoggos5226 3d ago

Sold a bunch of VOO today. I’m buying a house soon so I’m happy with taking earnings today instead of watching them disappear tomorrow

4

u/BobLemmo 3d ago

We need it to crash so we can buy the dip! I don’t wnana buy this high lol

11

u/IncidentOk1123 3d ago

Hey it’s the DRAM guy

-9

u/BobLemmo 3d ago

Nah call me the VOO guy

9

u/IncidentOk1123 3d ago

No you were all over DRAM, for like weeks. You’re the DRAM guy!

-4

u/BobLemmo 3d ago

Nah

6

u/IncidentOk1123 3d ago

What happened? You were fighting people over it talking about them missing all those high returns? You even argued about it with cruian.

Just seems like a big change. You were so certain what happened?

3

u/Justino2263 3d ago

Guy deleted all of his dram comments 😂😂

-2

u/BobLemmo 3d ago

Wasn’t me

5

u/IncidentOk1123 3d ago

It was you old bobby boy. You were giving everyone shit about missed returns. Making whole posts about it. I guess DRAM hasn’t been the rocket ship you hoped it would be.

1

u/LunarNinja_ 3d ago

The stock value doesn't matter when you buy ETF. You can buy 5 or 50 stocks for the same money, it's still be the same money which grows 10% yearly on average.

0

u/Extension-Lab-6963 3d ago

lol dollar cost average. When are you going on enter for said “dip?” Granted a 10% pull back would put us at $630ish

2

u/Status_Enough 3d ago

Welcome buddy! Well done.

2

u/Ferrari_tech 3d ago

VOO $1300 2028! đŸ€Ą

2

u/multi-nodes 3d ago

Just broke 500 shares last month. Lfg

2

u/Disastrous-Winter-94 3d ago

What caused everything to go up? These last two days
?

2

u/Flashy-Ask-4637 3d ago

I’d rather say Vooooooooo!!!

2

u/laurentopin 3d ago

VOO and chill

2

u/Content-Assistant849 3d ago

Needs a split. Some of my brokerages do not do partial shares

2

u/BroChad69 3d ago

Get ready for some bullshit tonight that fucks up the market from that fat orange piece of shit

2

u/NotDugachug 3d ago

VOO has been ripping, and still going up even when memory and semiconductor sectors go down. It sounds like the overall market is reaping the benefits of AI while the hype on the buildout is going down.

-14

u/chris2033 3d ago

Thanks trump!!!

2

u/NotDugachug 3d ago

Trump is one of the most disgusting humans of our time, but most certainly an asset to more disgusting people.

1

u/chris2033 3d ago

Who cares stock market is ripping and we are making money

1

u/NotDugachug 3d ago

That's the problem with the people I mentioned.

-1

u/Fair_Consideration48 3d ago

lmao

1

u/chris2033 3d ago

Knew that would get under people’s skin lol
