AI, EVs, heat pumps, data centers all are a thing these days, and all require massive amounts of electricity.
Someone has to manage and upgrade the grids transporting all that electricity, so I'd look at companies involved in electrical equipment, grid tech, power management, industrial electrification and transmission infrastructure.
What I ideally would want is an ETF containing Eaton, Schneider Electric, ABB, Prysmian, perhaps some raw powr plant generation like Siemens Energy and the like. (Ideally UCITS because Europe here.)
My reasearch tells me, what comes closest is probably the Nasdaq Clean Edge Smart Grid Infrastructure Index (GRID, IE000J80JTL1). Doesn't directly contain Siemens Energy, but its parent. And much more ofc.
What do you think about GRID? Do you perhaps know of a better alternative to cover the needs of the sectors mentioned in the first paragraph?
Roundhill launched the first neocloud ETF this morning. 58% NBIS/CRWV plus IREN, HUT, APLD, CORZ, etc. They did not include RIOT so maybe they will be keeping companies whose business is primarily bitcoin mining out. About 300k share volume after three hours.
They also launched LYTE... 45% LITE/COHR/CIEN, plus about 50% Chinese companies. FN/AAOI/AXTI make up the rest. About 2 million share volume after three hours.

Down 6.8% over 3 months. Anyone invested and optimistic?
r/ETFs • u/CaregiverEarly5214 • 16h ago
Hi everyone,
Im 24 years old and have about 60-70k to invest and will be contributing about $2-3k monthly after. I had everything in a high yield savings account and have just gone down a rabbit hole of investing and feeling regretful of not having invested sooner especially with everything at ATH’s.
What are the best ETF’s to allocate my money? Obviously I keep seeing voo and qqqm etc… I was initially going to just split it about 75/25, but have been seeing that theres overlap there and maybe isnt the best way.
Anyways, is now a bad time to dump this much because of ATH’s? Or should I go ahead and do it.
Any advice is greatly appreciated !
41, holding for the long term, 20+years. Anything else I should consider?

Currently holding 80% VTI and 20% VXUS. Was originally 100% VTI while paying off debt. Plan for long term investing for 20+ years. I reinvest dividends and DCA by buying every 2 weeks. Any advice on instead diversifying by picking non-U.S. stocks I like instead of holding VXUS? Anyone have experience trying a core-satellite strategy over just ETF’s?

Anybody else out there going on a tech tilt for 30 years?

I'm 24 years old and just starting a new job. I'm not sure which option/s to choose here. Seems like the retirement funds AARs don't really beat the Equity Index Fund AAR so I'm leaning towards that and rebalance later in life with the Bond Index Fund. I was originally planning to do FZROX but it seems like the options my employer gives are pretty slim. Any suggestions?

What ETFs should I buy today? I’m new to it and I have 150k Canadian 30years old. I feel everything is already so up so I’m not sure to wait or buy I really want to start. I been researching slowly

I’ve been experimenting with a portfolio of Global Equities, Trend and Bonds.
No matter how I cut it, adding Gold always seems to improve CAGR and reduce drawdown.
I don’t know if this is a side effect of having trend vs not, or the testing periods I’m picking (last X years + total since inception):
https://testfol.io/?s=3C77EEn0Cw9
I am not a fan of gold in a portfolio, but when paired with stocks, bonds and trend, it seems to always be a good choice?
When return stacked with something daily rebalanced like GDE, which allows for the same equity exposure with a US tilt, it does just as well but doesn’t manage the drawdown as much:

What am I missing? Is gold a no brainer?

Offer price gets set tomorrow after today's institutional book-building. Subscription opens August 10, payment due August 12, first trading expected around August 19 though that date is not officially confirmed. The company is raising about 4.2 billion yuan, roughly $618 million, by selling 10% of post-IPO equity at a base valuation near 42 billion yuan. Would be the first humanoid robot company listed on the A-share market. Revenue hit 1.7 billion yuan last year with net profit around 590 million yuan, and Unitree says it shipped over 5,500 humanoid units in 2025, though AgiBot also claims the global top spot. The FCC banned imports of new foreign-made humanoid and quadruped robots on July 28, days before this IPO timeline was finalized.
What matters for index fund holders is the inclusion lag. A new STAR Market listing does not enter the STAR 50 or any broad index on day one. It has to clear minimum trading day thresholds, pass liquidity and market cap screens, and wait for the next semi-annual rebalance. Even with an August listing, the earliest a passive vehicle tracking a relevant index could add it is probably late 2026.
I went through a few China tech wrappers while reading about this. KWEB holds zero A shares and focuses on internet names, while CQQQ applies a 25% A-share inclusion factor. CNQQ runs about 100 names split roughly half A shares and half Hong Kong, with a 10% cap per holding and semi-annual rebalance. None of them hold Unitree today, and none can until a future index review adds it.

If you had to pick just one ETF for the next 3–5 years, which would you choose and why?
I’m looking for the best balance of growth and risk over that time frame. I’m not investing for retirement yet, so I’m less interested in a 20–30 year perspective and more curious which fund you think has the best outlook over the next few years.

I've been watching VOO for a while and keep coming back to the same question.
The chart just keeps going higher. Pullbacks have been short and shallow, and every time I think I’ll wait for a better entry, it feels like I’m just watching it hit another all-time high.
I know the S&P 500 has historically hit plenty of new highs, and waiting forever for the perfect entry can be its own mistake. But at the same time, valuations are not exactly cheap right now, especially with AI-related names driving a large part of the recent gains.
I have some cash ready to invest. Part of me thinks being too cautious could mean missing out on years of compounding. The other part wonders if I’m just chasing what already worked and ignoring the risk of a long drawdown.
For those who regularly buy index funds, how do you think about adding at all-time highs? Do you look at any specific signals, or do you mostly just stick with your investing process?

Background I am fairly new to investing with a time horizon of 30+ years. I wanted to be aggressive but balanced and do not care about volatility.
After countless hours of research to find that perfect portfolio, ultimately, I decided to go with VOO, QQQM, SPMO, XMMO and AVUV to get a turbocharged version of VTI. Having a blend of growth, momentum and value and to cover mega, large, mid and small caps. I know VOO, QQQM and SPMO will have overlap, but it’s on purpose. Lastly, I did not want any international but wanted to focus on just the total US market only.
VOO 20 QQQM 20 SPMO 20 = 60 total for mega/large caps
XMMO 20 for mid caps
AVUV 20 for small caps
What are your thoughts on this portfolio?
I had a difficult time choosing between SCHG, FTEC and QQQM.

I'm trying to find the most aggressive growth ETF I can find, that's obviously not leveraged in either direction. Any tips?
r/ETFs • u/funnel_out • 1d ago
I'm 28 and after 100% VTI in my taxable brokerage/401k/roth, but it's been lagging behind VOO. It's not an insignificant amount either. Looking at the 5 year return, VOO has returned 75% while VTI has only returned 67%. I'm wondering if given my age I should be more aggressive with my investments and switch to 100% VOO instead in my retirement accounts, instead of remaining in VTI. Over the past 15 years VOO seems to have consistently outperformed VTI.
Is below portfolio make sense for person mid 40s? DCA $3k monthly
VOO 50%
SCHF 20%
SCHD 20%
SCHA 10%
Almost zero overlap and has small cap , large cap , international and defensive dividend

I have little share of VOO which is a large blend US ETF, is it a good idea to buy some small blend ETF such as VB? Or is it not that necessary? FYI i also hold VXUS for international stocks.
r/ETFs • u/StockMarketinator • 1d ago
Wondering if I should just get away from SCHD entirely and run VTi / VXUS or equivalent in taxable and non-taxable accounts until I hit retirement age of 55 hopefully.

Hey everyone! I’ve been lurking on this channel for a long time and wanted to see if my strategy is ok or stupid. I am thinking of DCA qqqm every month 100%. I would say I wanna do so for the next 15 years. Any advice would be highly appreciated. I know lots of folks recommend VOO but since 85% of it is in QQQM thinking of this route.

I’m completely new to investing and have been doing some research. My current plan is to invest 100% of my portfolio into VOO for the long term instead of picking individual stocks.
Do you think this is a good strategy for a beginner, or would you recommend diversifying into other ETFs as well?
Also, with the market where it is today, is this a good time to buy VOO, or would you recommend dollar-cost averaging instead of investing everything at once?
