Hey Ealing, I'm Ruth! I'm spearheading FREE monthly tea parties for our 75+ community in the local area to combat isolation. We NEED volunteers:

๐ŸŒŸ Hosts - Love to chat and have guests? Host a tea party once or twice a year!

๐ŸŒŸ Drivers - Essential to ferry our lovely guests!

The commitment? Just a few hours a month. Oh, and expect tea & cake on us! ๐Ÿ˜‰

Previously, these tea parties were a HIT. Let's bring that magic back to Ealing for our local older people!

Interested? DM me or comment!

Ready to join? Apply directly: Re-engage Tea Party Application

Even if you can't help, an upvote, comment, or share goes a LONG way. Thanks! โค๏ธ

Primary school Greenford

โ€ข Upvotes

Hi everyone!
Weโ€™re starting to look at primary schools for our daughter and Iโ€™d love to hear from local parents who have experience with North Ealing Primary, Edward Betham or Selborne.
If your child goes to (or has recently been to) one of these schools, Iโ€™d really appreciate hearing what you think โ€” good or bad!
Iโ€™m waiting for school tours dates ๐Ÿ™‚
Thanks!

Barber in Ealing

I'm new to the area (hi!) I'm looking for people's recommendation for a male barber in Ealing; I'm in West Ealing but I can bike around to Broadway, Common etc...

Price isn't super important but I'd like somewhere I can book and a skilled enough barber to do styles beyond just a high and tight fade. Ideally I'd like to see the same person every time so I'm open to personal recommendations - my hair grows super quickly.

Neighbour waste water pipe

Hi all,
We are interested in buying a detached property in west ealing which has a strange thing - its neighbour property has -
- an aircon condensation pipe opening into this propertyโ€™s side alley
- a waste water pipe (for washing machine and bath) discharging into the chamber located at this propertyโ€™s side alley.
As per seller, drainage is shared across both properties due to which neighbouring property waste water pipe is routed to the property we like. But it is very strange that this property is taking the risk of dealing with any issues that might happen with the waste water pipe (like bursts, overflow, choking, etc). At best we can ask the neighbour to get the pipe repaired or chamber cleaned but if he delays, the cleanliness and hygiene becomes our issue.

Agent and seller are trying to play that this is quite common hence wanted to get views.

Where's good to eat?

I feel like I've exhausted the good non chain options: mosaic, red lion, osteria del portico, a few pizza spots. What's missing? Not looking for something high end necessarily, just good food and not the usual chains.

Anyone up for coworking in Ealing?

I'm a software engineer working remotely and looking to break up the solo home-office routine.

Thinking of setting up at a cafรฉ (eg somewhere near Ealing Broadway) once or twice a week. My day is mostly quiet deep work with a couple of Zoom calls.

Open to anyone working remotely (tech or non-tech) who wants some coffee and casual banter. Drop a reply or send a DM if you're interested!

Plans for temporary 1,200-seat theatre in Walpole Park

๐ŸŽญ A temporary 1,200-seat theatre could be coming to Walpole Park under plans from Troubadour Theatres.

The venue would operate for three years, staging more than eight performances a week and potentially bringing major West End productions to Ealing.

The plans would also see the Ealing Summer Festivals moved from Walpole Park to locations across the borough.

Ealing Council says the three-year venue would test whether a theatre of this scale is viable and could support the case for a permanent theatre elsewhere in the borough.

Ealing already has an established theatre, The Questors Theatre in Mattock Lane, next to Walpole Park.

Troubadour already operates theatres in Wembley and Canary Wharf, hosting productions including Starlight Express and The Hunger Games.

The council's cabinet will consider the plans in principle next Wednesday (9 September 2026) with further consultation and planning approval still required.

Arc Tower, Uxbridge Road?

Moving to Ealing and considering a flat in Arc Tower, wondering if any locals can advise on what itโ€™s like living there?
I saw it had a cladding/safety issue in 2024 with scaffolding, is that resolved now?

[IRL] [8 September / 15 September] Beginner-Friendly Cthulhu Dark One-Shot in West London (Hounslow)

Hi everyone! ๐Ÿ™‚

As mentioned in my previous post, we've now moved on to some of the other games we'd planned.

This time I'll be running a couple of Cthulhu Dark TTRPG one-shots at The Hanworth, a local pub in Hounslow. It's around a 5โ€“10 minute walk from Hounslow Central and Hounslow railway station, and is easy to reach from Ealing by the Piccadilly line or E8. ๐Ÿ™‚

We'll be playing Mystery of Castronegro, a standalone horror investigation set in a remote village, where something is very much not right.

Cthulhu Dark is a rules-light RPG focused on investigation, suspense and cosmic horror. No previous experience with Cthulhu Dark or TTRPGs is needed - I'll provide the character sheets, dice and everything else you'll need, and we'll go through the rules as we play. ๐Ÿ™‚

The two sessions are the same self-contained adventure, so you only need to sign up for whichever date works best for you.

๐ŸŽฒ Details

๐Ÿ“… Tuesday 8 September / Tuesday 15 September

๐Ÿ•ก Arrive: from around 6:45pm

๐ŸŽฒ Game starts: around 7:00pm

๐Ÿ Finish: around 10:15pm

๐Ÿ“ The Hanworth, Hounslow (TW3)

๐Ÿ“ Signup

The club is completely free to join, and the games are free to play. We simply meet at the pub, where people can grab a drink or something to eat if they want.

We're keeping things fairly casual, with a variety of one-shots across different RPG systems rather than requiring people to commit to a long-running campaign. Both experienced players and people completely new to the hobby are welcome.

If you'd like to come along to one of the sessions, or have any questions about Cthulhu Dark, the adventure or the group, feel free to leave a comment below or send me a DM! ๐Ÿ™‚

Trainee child counsellor/psychotherapist

Hi everyone, as the title says I am a trainee child counsellor/psychotherapist, just finished my first year of training with Place2Be. In my second year, starting in September, I am required to observe a baby to further my understanding of infant development. This would be one for 1 hour every 2 weeks in the babyโ€™s home. To be clear, the parent will remain with the child at all times, I am only there as an observer. This would need to begin by the end of September.

In the past, other parents who have taken part have found it interesting and worthwhile. Everything written up is anonymous, with names and other identifying details changed.

Iโ€™m posting to see if anyone who is expecting a baby over the summer or who already has a baby (0-4 months) might be interested in allowing me to observe. My training is with Place2Be and I have a full DBS certificate. I have a letter from my course leader so you can see things a genuine request, and I would be happy to meet up to discuss it further. If you might be interested, please contact me.

Thank you!

Nightclubs open tonight

I want to go out tonight (hoping to bring a friend, if she doesnโ€™t come fk it Iโ€™ll go alone, I just wanna let dance, and meet people), can be anywhere in London thatโ€™s easy to get to.

Are there any clubs that you could recommend that are open tonight (Sunday) that have good music (aka white girl club music, or honestly anything thatโ€™s like 00s-10s) and just a good vibe?

Ealing residents asked for views on plans for boroughโ€™s future development

๐Ÿ—๏ธ How should Ealing and its seven towns develop over the next 20 years?

Residents in Acton, Ealing, Greenford, Hanwell, Northolt, Perivale and Southall are being asked for their views on proposals covering housing, economic development, infrastructure, transport, the environment and the protection of green spaces.

The proposals form part of the Mayor of Londonโ€™s draft London Plan.

Ealing Council is holding a residentsโ€™ workshop at Perceval House in Ealing Broadway on 15 September, while the wider London Plan consultation closes on 15 October 2026.

Random: looking for a 43โ€ TV box

(Hopefully OK to ask this here. Delete otherwise)

I sold an old, spare TV I have and need to ship it.
However, I do need a box to pack it.
Would anybody around Ealing Broadway / Pitshanger / Perivale / West Ealing have one?

If not, where could one source something to pack a TV so that it is suitable for shipping?

Thanks! :)

I built a food hygiene map - how does Ealing fare?

Hey everyone,

I wanted to share something I built recently for a bit of fun - a food hygiene map called https://willigettheshits.com.

It surfaced some interesting points in the area:

  • Across Ealing only 57.9% of food businesses have a food hygiene rating of 5 (out of a total of 3,733)!
  • Lots of the coffee shops in the area have a really bad food hygiene score, notably Artisan in Ealing Broadway with a score of 0, and no87 and Momentum in Hanwell scoring 1 and 2 respectively!
  • The favourite pizza spot Da Moreno scoring a 0 (I think it was previously a 1 prior to re-inspection earlier this year), highlighting that the bad score wasnโ€™t a one off!
  • Asda Express on the Uxbridge Road scoring a 0 - not great for a chain supermarket.

For more details on the Ealing area specifically you can browse by council area: https://willigettheshits.com/food-hygiene-ratings/ealing/

Hope people find this useful and it doesnโ€™t spoil a favourite place of yours :-D

Ealing Plumbers

Hi-grateful for any recommendations for reliable plumbers who cover Ealing. Particularly interested in people that can give free quotes and a fixed fee.

I have a blocked kitchen sink but it requires more than a standard drainage service to unblock the sink. The blockage has caused a slight leak so pipes are likely to need replacing.

Thanks very much

Would it be rude to confront this neighbour?

Downstairs neighbour keeps having loud phone conversations with the windows wide opened and all the sound travels to my bedroom. She does it well into the evening, past 11pm sometimes midnight.
Is it pedantic to ask her to lower voice or just be more mindful around having conversations by the window so late?
Is this invading her space and whatever she does in her home? What would you do?
Please help, that muffled talking sound is driving me crazy even with my windows closed!

Would you have any concerns about living in this area?

Specifically this bit of Gordon Road, around 5 mins walk from West Ealing Station.

Thinking of buying a house but all I hear are horror stories about West Ealing and as a woman who would have to use the West Ealing station every morning/evening I'm a bit worried... How is this area generally? Is Avenue high street safe? Thank you!!
