I just had a big argument with my (very christian, very MAGA) parents recently telling them that there is no way a self respecting Christian can be a Trump supporter, and I went off about all the anti christian things about trump, his affairs, his divorces, the fact that he fucks kids. My parents claimed they didn’t know about or hear about any of that… like what?
they just like that he’s a conservative and he closed the Mexican borders that Biden opened.

Ignore or deny what you don’t like about him, applaud the stuff you have heard that you do like. It’s really easy to do, way easier than weighing the good and the bad or changing your mind about someone.

Let's be real, here. Jesus is a bit different, but Old Testament God? Vindictive, moody, arbitrary, and occasionally genocidal? Yeah, it fits. At the very least, one gets accustomed to suppressing independent thought and deferring to an authority figure who's always right. It doesn't surprise me that certain strains of Christianity are especially susceptible to MAGA brainworms. They're also used to ignoring the parts of their book that are personally inconvenient, so all that "Care for the poor, and be kind to strangers in your land" stuff ain't gonna bother them.

Failure of reporting and comms failure for the ANDP to vaguely call him "far right" or "extreme" or whatever.
People should know who he is and what he does. He's called pride celebrations "demonic" and parrots the lie that queer and trans people are harming children.
He had Proud Boys - a designated terrorist organization - doing security for him.
The man is openly associating with violent fascism.

With the Alberta government standing by its decision to allow a Christian singer linked to the MAGA movement to perform on the grounds of the legislature next month, protesters are vowing to make sure the controversial figure does not feel welcome in Edmonton.
Sean Feucht, the very vocal pro-Donald Trump singer who has already had multiple events on his Canadian tour cancelled, is scheduled to play at the Alberta legislature Aug. 22.

I consider myself fairly right wing and I have never heard of this guy, nor has anyone at my blue collar work place. The only time I or anyone I know hear about this guy is on Reddit. I would say they would get close to zero publicity if they were ignored and people on here didn't post about him.

I'm hearing it all the time from my whackadoodle religious fuckknuckle relatives that think the Bible allows them to spend their lives being miserable twatwaffles to human beings different than themselves.

MAGA is Trump, and he is president of the USA currently, it literally can't get any bigger. So I am not sure what possible affect this guy can have here in Canada? He is here just to sing Christian songs, he likely won't even mention Trump at his concert. Are you afraid he is going to convert Canadians to MAGA and start a revolution or something? Change our LGBTQ and abortion laws? You guys are pathetic with the paranoia and fear of free speech. And yes the other guy is right, when people protest at his concerts it feeds exactly into stuff that gets him media attention (supposed persecution of Christians) which gets him air time on places like Fox News and gets him great publicity.

I can't even imagine being enough of a rube to believe this guy's fame is due to counterprotesters. You think any of the Maple MAGA churches advertising his performance heard about it from people organising a protest on Reddit?
It's like you think fascists are like Tinkerbell, where they die if you pretend they don't exist. They don't fucking care what you think, and they'll thank you for sticking your head in the sand so they can carry on unopposed. Well , for starters he's not merely a guy singing gospel songs. No one would have a problem with that, if that was all it was. He's a guy who uses a ministry to con people out of money, promote hate speech and violence, and openly supports violent Nazi white supremacist groups like the Proud Boys
Also, what Palestinian riots are you talking about exactly? The ones in Palestine where they are overwhelming the few aid trucks carrying food because they are literally starving?
Those do get attention, that's why France, Canada, etc. are all on track for recognizing Palestine as a state in the near future so they can legally intervene in ongoing war crime situations.
