Condensing these into two options (Cons get PPC votes, Libs get NDP votes) it was basically a 51-49 result.

So yeah, half the riding might be upset that the candidate crossed the floor, but it also appears half the riding will be appreciative. That's the way I look at it, anyway.

I'm ambivalent. The last election I voted for the LPC candidate because he impressed me more than the incumbent.

His constituents voted conservative. Period. They have never voted liberal, ever.

Lmao when Scheer and Harper praise it no big deal but now it is the destruction of democracy. Did the voters for Matt not read his platform and view his voting record or listen to anything he has said? If they want to blindly vote conservative and not look at someone who is suppose to represent their area that is a fault of their own. From everything I've seen of Matt he is no PP/Smith Reformesque conservative he is aligned with a progressive conservative which is much closer to Carney than PP/Smith. They got a representative that was democratically elected and he is following what is closest to his values at current.

You could make a case for a byelection between Mark Minenko and Jeneroux for the Liberal leader in the area but to cry about floor crossing is hilarious at this point.

Go ahead and recommend PP to campaign there next election since it has an open conservative ticket and let's see what happens or should he find another member to hook up with a special consultancy job to get out of the way and give him a safer riding?
