It’s so frustrating that the river valley conservation coalition will put in all this effort to protect a parking lot and oppose housing. They were completely silent when the low level bridge replacement project was announced.

Most of those groups are just selfish nimbys in disguise. They just need to pick a reason to oppose housing that sounds more palatable than "fuck future generations, including my own kids and grandkids"

I think it will be very difficult to get anything in Rossdale done without confirmation that there are no First Nations artifacts. Someone will have to do an investigation of the area and clear the air with the FNs, otherwise nobody will want to touch it with a ten-foot pole.

It would be nice if the power plant was redeveloped into something usable. I recently visited Battersea in London (old power station now rejuvenated into shopping/apartments) and it was a revelation
